Today is Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary!
Happy 50th!!
We’re here in the parks checking everything out for the celebration — from fireworks to merchandise to food! And boy oh boy, there is a LOT of new food here. Disney announced some interesting treats for the anniversary, including a very unique dessert that you’ll never guess the theme of!

And what a celebration it is! There’s a new nighttime show at EPCOT, there’s a new fireworks show at Magic Kingdom, there is SO MUCH MERCHANDISE, and even new entertainment. But the thing we’re most excited about is all the 50th anniversary food! SO MUCH FOOD!
Well, this has CERTAINLY been a day FULL of 50th Anniversary snacks.
There are so many new things to check out!
We hope you’ve got a sweet tooth because there are SO. MANY. TREATS. to try out as a part of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations today. We’ve already tried an ice cream sundae themed after the new show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, some strange new churros, and a sandwich with an entire skewer of bacon on top; and now we’re headed to Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom for more!
One of the major design themes for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is the “EARidescent” color scheme.

We’ve seen banners, merchandise, and decorations with iridescent colors (get it? EARidescent?), which usually include shimmery blue and purple pastels. Disney World has even promised us several new treats for the 50th Anniversary that have the new color scheme, and we’re on our way to check one of them out in EPCOT today!

The day is finally here — you get to see two new fireworks shows, a new character cavalcade, ride a new attraction, and, of course, EAT ALL THE FOOD! Disney has SO many special food items for the big celebration, but we’re not complaining, because we’re trying it all to find out what’s the best. And, next on our list are two treats from the fairest one of all!
It’s here! Disney World is celebrating its 50th anniversary and there is a LOT to look forward to at the biggest party we’ve seen at Disney World in a long time!

We’ve got TWO new fireworks shows, LOADS of 50th anniversary merchandise, the 50 gold character statues, every park icon becoming a Beacon of Magic, and SO much more. But more importantly, we’ve got LOADS OF NEW FOOD to try, and, well, we won’t lie — that’s what we’re super excited about!
Part of EPCOT’s Transformation included the re-imagining of Future World into three new, distinct neighborhoods: World Discovery, World Celebration, and World Nature. These three sections would join World Showcase as the four themed areas of EPCOT!

Earlier this week, we learned that these three neighborhoods would officially debut in time for the start of the 50th Anniversary Celebration — as well as EPCOT’s 39th Anniversary. Today is the day, and the days of referring to “Future World” when describing the front half of EPCOT are behind us!

Disney World is the big 5-0 today and we are ready to celebrate! We’re checking out new shows, merchandise, rides, and more. Oh, and FOOD, of course! There are a TON of new food items around the parks and hotels for the 50th, and we’re trying it all. Over in Magic Kingdom, there are a few new items that honor a former Fantasyland ride!
October 1st has FINALLY arrived, and Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebrations are officially underway!
