Disney is looking to celebrate journeys from one chapter of life into the next.
And, many graduating college students are experiencing that moment right now! While a lot of the Class of 2020 didn’t have a traditional graduation, Disney Cast and Crew Members are gathering together to celebrate the occasion!
When we’re not at the Disney theme parks, chances are, you’ll find us at home, popcorn in hand, watching Disney movies! And you know it’s such a joy going to the movie theater now that they’ve reopened!
We LOVE Disney classics and modern blockbusters, from Snow White to Avengers: Endgame. But there’s just something exciting about a NEW movie. 2021 has already seen the release of some fantastic Disney films, like Raya and the Last Dragon.
Although we’ve been building our own DIY movie theaters at home, it’s not the same as visiting one in person.
Since many films have been rescheduled or postponed, it’s hard to know when we will be able to watch Disney movies on the big screen again. But today Disney CEO, Bob Chapek, spoke out on how the closures have affected Disney’s films.
We’ve been watching a ridiculous amount of movies on Disney+ recently (how can we resist cuddling up with a blanket and our pets to watch Onward??).
Since we’ve been chilling at home, baking some goodies, and doing some DIY home improvements, we’ve noticed quite a trend in what Disney characters we find ourselves relating to most.
Shortly after we saw the Disney parks shut their doors, we started to see stores, restaurants, and experiences across the country, like movie theaters, close down as well.
With distributors unable to theatrically release their content, some have turned to digital at-home releases instead. Is this a temporary trend out of necessity, or could Disney capitalize on this with their future film releases?
Well, it happened. We’ve become one with our couches. We all knew things were headed this way!
Still, being permanently glued to our cushions means that we DEFINITELY need some new ideas of what to watch on Disney+. Yes, we have already watched ALL NINE Disneyland-inspired watchlists. Lucky for us, Disney+ is coming through with a whole new set of watchlists — this time based on the decades of the past. It’s time for some throwbacks!
Disney artists and animators have taken us to different worlds, brought us along on epic journeys, and introduced us to iconic characters.
While have been pretty artistic ourselves making our own Adventure Books, DIY Disney Scratch-N-Sniff Stickers, and painting our walls (like Rapunzel, of course), this Disney fan is taking it to the NEXT LEVEL.
Although we’ve been at home watching plenty of Disney+, we do miss going to the movie theaters.
AMC Theatres originally planned to keep its locations open with lowered guest capacity during the outbreak, but ultimately chose to close them as a safety precaution. With the recent closures, Disney also decided to push back the release dates of its film schedule for movies like Spider-Man 3 and Black Widow. However, there is a little hope for theaters opening up for big premieres this summer.
We can’t tell you how many times we’ve watched Up and bawled like babies (how are you not crying when Carl gives Russell the grape soda pin?!).
And, although it really hits us in the feels to see Ellie’s Adventure Book every time we watch the movie, we can’t get over how meaningful and special it is. So, what better time is there than now to make your own version filled with YOUR memories??
