For decades now, variants of the Monte Cristo sandwich have been an iconic staple of Disneyland’s food offerings. In my 7 years of covering Disney theme parks, it’s often been one of the first food offerings mentioned to me about the park, along with churros, beignets, and DOLE Whip. Over the years, the sandwich has come and gone from certain menus at the park, but recently, we were overjoyed to find it back as a quick service option.
Y’all, we are FLIPPING out over here for the best reason!
This is THE BEST day!
Over in Disneyland, there are lots of delicious dining options to try, even at quick-service restaurants (although some people think the only good dishes require dining reservations, that’s not the case!). In fact, one of our favorite entrees in the park is FINALLY now available at a quick-service location, and we couldn’t be happier.
It’s certainly no secret that we love FOOD here at DFB, but bread and cheese happen to be two of our favorite food groups (yes, they’re definitely food groups, just trust us on that one.)

So when Disney introduces a new snack that combines these two food groups, well, it’s our job to investigate. We’ve been trying quite a few new snacks around Disneyland and the fun isn’t stopping anytime soon. Come with us to try the new Baked Cheesy Biscuits at Royal Street Veranda!
If you haven’t visited Disneyland Resort in a while, you might not realize just how much AMAZING food you can get there (and yes, it rivals Disney World food, and dare we say, it’s often BETTER😱).

From Disneyland staples like corn dogs, churros, and Mickey beignets to newer foods like breakfast chimichangas and the Garlic Cheesy Pretzel Bread, we just want to spend our days eating our way around the parks. But a new food just arrived in the parks, and we’re just going to tell you right now — this one is quickly moving up to the top of our list.
Y’all aren’t ready for this news. Seriously. You’re going to want to sit down.

Well, it’s been quite a ride, hasn’t it?

We got ALL kinds of updates about Tiana’s Palace Restaurant in Disneyland, including a first look INSIDE the restaurant, the restaurant’s menu, Cast Member outfits, and more. But here’s the thing, two MORE restaurants in the area will also be getting some updates! Say what?
It’s Mardi Gras season, but the French Market Restaurant AND Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland just CLOSED (to make way for the upcoming Tiana’s Palace restaurant). You know the Mint Julep Bar — the place where you could grab the delicious Mickey-shaped beignets at Disneyland? When we heard this news, we panicked a little, not gonna lie.

Of course, Disney knows better than to make us suffer from a lack of Mickey beignets, especially during Mardi Gras. Although the French Market Restaurant is permanently closed, the Mint Julep Bar will reopen later this year as part of Tiana’s Palace. In the meantime, you can grab Mickey beignets from another location at Disneyland!
Okay, so what’s your favorite Disneyland snack? Some of you might crave those hand-dipped corn dogs (YUM). Some of you might walk around the parks with a churro in each hand (guilty!).

So let’s also talk about those Mickey Beignets from Mint Julep Bar, because those are one of our favorites. But right now, the Mint Julep bar is closed. OH NO! 😮 Don’t worry, though, because you’ll be able to get your Mickey Beignet craving satisfied elsewhere in the park.

We recently tried a Peach Cobbler Donut (!!), fawned over an adorable Steamboat Willie Milk Shake, and started making our way through the amazing list of food added for Celebrate Soulfully during Black History Month. Now, we’re trying another fried treat at Disneyland: Cranberry Fritters!
