Legacy Lightsabers
What a day it has been! We got some BIG news about the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (Star Wars hotel) experience, joined over 800(!!!) of our friends in line to get some Star Wars merchandise, and we’re checking out tons of Star Wars treats in Disney World. And now an incredibly special lightsaber hilt set has become available online!!
From a video of a super realistic looking lightsaber (that we’ll get to see soon!!), to updates about a restaurant guests will be able to eat at on Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (a.k.a the Star Wars Hotel), this Star Wars Day is already proving itself to be QUITE the day!

But, turning over to the parks, today is a big Star Wars merchandise release day as well, particularly over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and let’s just say the Star Wars fans are WELL aware of it.

Today we’ve gotten some HUGE updates from Disney about one of the experiences Star Wars fans have been eagerly awaiting — Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (also known as the Star Wars hotel). So far, we’ve gotten a look at the incredible new, realistic-looking lightsaber that will debut there, and an update on when the hotel will open. And now we’ve got some news about a way that you can get a special peek at part of this hotel!
A number of changes related to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks, and more have been announced recently.
Health and Safety Signs in Disney World
The Centers for Disease Control have updated their guidance regarding wearing masks outdoors, the Transportation Security Administration extended their mask requirements for planes and public transportation, and we’ve seen some health measures changed in Disney World. Earlier today, Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order suspending local COVID-19 regulations and also signed a law related to COVID-19 restrictions, and now Disney has responded.
From pastel rainbow ears, to ears that had our team debating what their true color was…we’ve seen a whole BUNCH of Minnie and Mickey ears released this year already!

And we’ve seen the Orange County, Florida mayor relax distancing rules and announce changes coming to the mask mandate. But now we’ve got a big update from the Florida Governor regarding local COVID-19 rules in the state.

Recently, we’ve seen Disney change part of its mask policy as it relates to outdoor photos and we’ve seen things like self-service drink stations become available again. In terms of what’s coming in the future, we’ve heard a bit about the modified version of a popular show that will be returning this summer. And when it comes to Cast Members — it seems like things are changing too with more jobs becoming available. So what’s going on and what could it all mean?
