A lot has changed in Disney World since the 50th anniversary celebration kicked off on October 1st!
From new 50th merchandise, decorations, food, and entertainment, there’s a lot to do in Disney World right now. And along with all of this excitement, you might have missed this little detail that changed in the My Disney Experience app!

We forget this sometimes after neverending planning, budgeting, and preparing but going to Disney World is meant to be a VACATION. Disney Genie is launching soon, people! It will debut in Disney World on October 19th.
While the main part of Genie is the free portion that helps you plan your Disney World trip, one of the new paid features launching with the program is Individual Attraction Selection, or pay-per-ride. These are high-demand rides that you can pay individually to skip the line of using the new Lightning Lanes. These rides are also not included with Genie+, the new paid program replacing FastPass+. We’ve learned a lot about this pay-per-ride system, but Disney just announced more important information that you need to know if you’re going to pay for these individual rides.
By now you may have heard of the Disney Genie program, which is a new service in the My Disney Experience app for Disney World that helps guests plan their trip with free personalized itineraries.
There are two paid service options with Disney Genie — the first is Genie+, which is $15 per ticket, per day and will allow you to make reservations to skip the line of rides, similar to how you previously did with FastPass+. The other paid service is Individual Attraction Selection, or the pay-per-ride service, which will allow guests to skip the line of high-demand rides NOT included with Genie+ by paying for them individually.
