Well, it’s not always all pixie dust and Mickey ears. Some of Disney World’s rides are proper thrill rides and they warn you about it in their very names — hello, Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. You don’t exactly walk onto that one expecting rainbows and sunshine. But, other rides seem completely kid-friendly from the outside and then BAM! You get on the ride and suddenly you’re hit with a rather terrifying and totally unexpected surprise. Here are the attractions that we didn’t think would be scary…until it was too late. As they say, there’s no going back now.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed unexpectedly for the first few days of 2021, and Frozen Ever After was unavailable all day yesterday. Now, a popular Magic Kingdom attraction has been closed all day as well!

While Christmas has come and gone, this is still prime vacation time for many people, as they get an extra week off of work before the New Year. We’re seeing massive crowds and ridiculously long lines for attractions. As we were checking out one of those super-long queues, we happened to spot something on Avatar Flight of Passage that really surprised us!

You can “drop in” at the Tower of Terror, become a pilot on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, or blast off to an Aerosmith concert at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Given how popular these attractions are, the new health and safety measures and physical distancing can definitely decrease the number of guests that get to ride them each day. 2020 has brought a LOT of twists and turns, and we’re still very much in the midst of grappling with them. This year and next were supposed to be exciting ones in terms of opening attractions.

There are still projects to be excited about, of course, but Disney has left us wondering when and if some of them will ever be completed. Luckily, there are a few BIG Disney attractions that we can still expect to open in 2021 — here are the upcoming projects scheduled for completion next year!
