As more and more restaurants have reopened, Mobile Order has basically become the new norm. So, gone are the days that you could go a day without your cell phone in the parks (did anyone ever do that though?!). Mobile Order lets you read through the menu in the My Disney Experience app, order, pay, and then be greeted with your meal ready to go when you arrive. The system certainly isn’t without flaws, but we’ve adapted to ordering our lunch from our little screens. And, today, we spotted a new feature at one of the restaurants as we were ordering.
Now there are even more ways to take advantage of Mobile Order at Disney World!
For years, Mobile Order has allowed guests to use the My Disney Experience app to pre-order and pre-pay for their food at select quick-service locations. Yesterday, we shared that they had added a new pick-up time feature to Mobile Order. Now, they have added new payment options.
We recently shared a more detailed look at some of the new locations (and a bit of information on Mobile Order and its benefits), but today we noticed that Disney has added even MORE counter service restaurants to the lineup of Mobile Order locations.
Mobile Order made its debut as part of the My Disney Experience app in May of 2017.
This in-app feature allows guests to pre-order and pre-pay for their food at participating Counter Service Restaurants around Disney World. Upon arrival to the restaurant, guests using Mobile Order can then bypass the ordering queue and go straight to a designated Pick Up Counter to get their food to save time that would otherwise be spent in line. Travelling with a food allergy or sensitivity can be difficult. Disney has worked to reduce the stress by making chefs visits to your table easier as well as incorporating allergy and sensitivity requests in the Advance Dining Reservation system and providing allergen information on menus at many Disney restaurants.
And for a while now, Disney has been moving toward incorporating food allergy and sensitivity orders into the Mobile Order System in the My Disney Experience App.
After you scroll down past the standard menu, the allergy and sensitivity options appear.
Disney World’s Mobile Order system, accessible through the My Disney Experience App, has been around for just over two years. Mobile Order lets you skip the register lines in participating restaurants by ordering and paying for your food in advance through the app.
Since its launch, we’ve seen the Mobile Order program expand to more dining locations within the four theme parks, and a very short lived couple of days for the Contemporary Resort’s Contempo Cafe. Now, it seems Mobile Order is giving Resort Counter Service options another go as it has expanded once again to include Spyglass Grill at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. [Read more…]
