We’ve got an exciting update from the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness!
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently closed
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom closed in January for a year-long refurbishment (at least). We’ve been keeping an eye on all the construction we can see — including the removal and replacement of the ride’s track and some testing — but we recently spotted something else we’re excited about!

The ride closed on June 17th, 2024, for a massive overhaul. Up to this point, we only know a few details about what to expect when the ride reopens on July 22nd, 2025, and we’ve been waiting for more information. Well, the time has finally come!
Are you ready for some new rides? Well, Disney World is certainly working on giving those to you. We’ve got new rides coming to the new land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Pueblo Esperanza. We’re getting Disney’s first suspended roller coaster in the new Monsters, Inc. land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Magic Kingdom is getting TWO new Cars rides PLUS a Villains land with new rides.

In EPCOT, Test Track is getting a complete overhaul, which means it will be technically like a new ride when it reopens on July 22nd. Disney has announced specific groups will be able to preview the attraction before it opens to the public.
A popular ride is about to reopen in EPCOT!

EPCOT underwent some massive changes in 2024 with the opening of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza. However, the changes didn’t stop there, as Disney World announced the reimagining of the super-popular Test Track ride and promptly closed it for a lengthy refurbishment back in June while teasing that the attraction would reopen sometime in 2025. Well, we’re happy to bring some good news — we finally have a reopening date!
As part of the ongoing transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. into the Tropical Americas-themed Pueblo Esperanza, Disney has announced yet another closure.

The Boneyard, a dinosaur-dig themed play area for kids, has remained open despite the other closures in DinoLand. But, Disney has just revealed the final date this spot will be open — and it’s in just a few weeks.
It’s officially summer, which means we want to jump into the pool at our resort after munching on snacks and sipping drinks from the poolside bar.

We have been waiting and waiting for news on when one of our favorite Disney resort pools is going to reopen after routine maintenance, and we think we found a MAJOR clue to when we can get back in and make a splash.
Disney World has leaned into the chaos a little this week.

For example, we found a non-caramel snack at Karamell-Küche in EPCOT. We went through a flurry of emotions when Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Magic Kingdom brought back the OLD waffles. One of our favorite foods at a Disney World hotel was a…hotdog (okay, so maybe we leaned into the chaos a bit, too). And like always, Disney World restaurant menus got updates.
Here at Disney Food Blog, we’re suckers for a special drink. It’s even better when it’s a drink we can only grab for a limited time, because that makes it even more special.

We found a drink that makes us wish it were available all year round, but since it’s only around this month, if you see us going to Disney Springs every day, don’t mind us.
The one thing we love about Disney World is that you can get some amazing food without ever stepping foot in a theme park.

Not only do Disney World hotels have great restaurants, but Disney Springs is chock-full of dining spots that we visit on a regular basis; no park ticket required! So when we were asked to attend a media event at Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante to check out some food and drinks…well, we couldn’t say “no!”
