Update: As of 10:51 AM on January 12th, the building was all clear, and guests were allowed to reenter.

A fire truck has arrived on the scene, and guests are currently being held outside the building. Our reporter was at the hotel to check on the boat dock closure when the evacuation began.
On September 12th, a smoke alarm went off on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland, prompting the evacuation of several stores and a restaurant.

Sometimes things happen in Disney Parks that you can’t control. There may be emergencies from time to time, and those situations can cause evacuations and closures. We often see rides evacuated and closed, and we recently learned about an incident during the Paint The Night parade where smoke was coming from one of the parade floats. Now, a new evacuation is unfolding in Disneyland, and we have the details.
Even in the Most Magical Place on Earth, things can still sometimes go wrong.

You hope it won’t happen to you, but it’s best to be prepared no matter what ends up happening on your trip. From missed reservations to ride malfunctions and more, expecting the unexpected is always a good plan in Disney World. And, from time to times folks experience being evacuated off of an attraction or even out of a building.

Nothing wakes us up faster than the knowledge that a Disney World park day is imminent — okay, almost nothing.

We suppose if a fire alarm went off at our Disney World hotel, we might be up just a little bit quicker! Although it’s rare, we’ve seen it happen before and Disney usually advises guests when a test might be happening, but if you’re not expecting it you might be caught off guard. It looks like that might have been the case recently for guests staying at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn!
Okay, Disney, let’s not make a habit of this! Every once in a while, a fire alarm can hijack a perfectly normal day in Disney World and cause a little interruption. Recently, the Creations Shop in EPCOT was evacuated after the fire alarm went off, and a smoky refrigerator caused some commotion in Tomorrowland earlier this year. Even Disney World isn’t immune to problems!
