Carnation Cafe is serving up a (maybe not-so) Haunted Firehouse Chicken Sandwich this Halloween Time. [Read more…]
Lest you think Disneyland Resort’s Pixar Fest is just serving up snacks like Funnel Cake Fries topped with sugary, fruity cereal and Cocoa Churros with Mexican-Spiced Chocolate Dip, today we invite you to step into the past at Carnation Café. It’s here you’ll find two throwback entrées: a Pork Chop TV Dinner and a Fried Bologna Sandwich.
These two Grandma’s kitchen-worthy dishes are inspired by the heartwarming (tear-jerking) Pixar film Up!, in which viewers watch sweet Carl and his love Ellie grow old together.
Pixar Fest is a full-on celebration of friendship represented through the stories and characters of Disney Pixar movies. And IT. IS. ON! all over Disneyland Resort starting today through September 3, 2018!
The fun spans both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure with a celebration that includes a new nighttime spectacular, two returning parades, Pixar characters, themed food and drinks, and more.
It’s almost time for PIXAR FEST!!
If you’re heading to Disneyland Resort anytime from April 13th through September 3rd, you’ll have the opportunity to celebrate the friendship and fun of the Disney Pixar films and characters throughout both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure during PIXAR FEST!!!
The celebration will include a new nighttime spectacular, TWO returning parades, Pixar characters, themed food and drinks, and much more! We’re sharing everything you need to know about Pixar Fest… and there’s a LOT to cover, so let’s waste no time!!
Pixar Fest Food Checklist
What’s your favorite Disney Pixar flick? We’ve got the themed foods organized by film below, so you can make sure you find every snack involving your favorite — or favorites! We’ve also got a PRINTABLE PIXAR FEST FOOD CHECKLIST for you to take with you to the park so you don’t miss a thing! WOO!!
If you’ve enjoyed a meal at Carnation Cafe on Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland, you’ve likely been in the midst of real Disney royalty –perhaps without even knowing it.
Chef Oscar Martinez has been working in the Cafe for half a century — and he has been working at Disneyland for over sixty total years. This makes Chef Oscar the longest tenured Disneyland cast member ever.
Chef Oscar has been a touchstone for visitors to Walt’s park, often seen first thing in the morning, waving to guests as they entered the park. He was always game for a chat, as our Disneyland correspondent Heather Sievers (@diningindisney) found out one morning.
Oscar started as a bus boy and worked his way up the restaurant ladder, finally achieving fame as a connoisseur of comfort food at Carnation Cafe. It was here that Oscar spent the last fifty years of his service to the Walt Disney Company and to the guests he loved so much.
And while Oscar has more recently spent his time as an ambassador in the dining room rather than as a chef on the line, his influence will continue to be felt in the Carnation Cafe and in the Company for years to come.
We wish Chef Oscar all the best in his retirement — and thank him for spreading so much Disney magic over the past six decades.

You’ll be able to scare up treats just about anywhere you go! Candy Kitchens such as the Candy Palace in Disneyland and Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure will bring back the Jack Skellington Apple!
Jack couldn’t resist bringing along a couple of his pals… the classic Minnie Witch Apple and the Poison Skull Apple. [Read more…]
