You’re sitting in a large, indoor space and can hear the fires crackling in nearby pizza ovens and staff talking and walking about. In front of you is a giant plate of cheeses and salty meats. Then your main course comes in — you hear the crunchy crust as you take a bite, smell that melted cheese, and taste that amazing truffle. It’s just a dream for now. But it can be your reality if you go to one special spot and we’re about to let you in on the secret.

If there’s one thing that’s predictable about Disney World restaurants…it’s that they’re unpredictable!
We like to stay on top of things!
Disney’s dining locations are constantly evolving and we do our best to keep up with all the menu changes around the parks and resorts. Whether it’s a new item at a snack stand or a whole line of updated entrees at a sit-down restaurant, we make sure to follow Disney World menus closely. And today, we were given a pleasant surprise — two totally revamped menus at one of the table service restaurants!
If you’ve been keeping up with DFB for a while you’ll likely know that Via Napoli is one of our favorite spots around World Showcase in EPCOT. It was love at first bite (of pizza) and we can’t fuhgeddaboudit! Yes, we love traveling around and trying all the exotic (and often delicious) foods, but we keep coming back to our favorite pizza spot in the Italy Pavilion time and time again.

We would probably eat here more often than we should if we could. But we wouldn’t be doing our jobs of sharing EVERYTHING you can eat in Disney World, now would we? 😉 Every once in a while though, the siren song of those pizzas comes a’callin. Who are we to not answer that call? Let’s eat some ‘za!
Who’s ready for cozy, home-cooked Italian meal?

We recently made our way over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to have just that. Other standouts in the park, like 50s Prime Time Cafe and The Hollywood Brown Derby, tend to be locations that pop to mind first when in this park, and one spot, in particular, has a tendency to be overlooked. It has been quite a while since we’ve dined at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano so we set out to see what has been going on in this cozy corner of Hollywood Studios. Though we’ve had mixed reviews in the past, we’re back to see how it has been holding up!
If you’ve been following along at DFB for a while, you know that Via Napoli stole a pizza our hearts from the beginning. Even though there are plenty of exotic foods all around the World Showcase in Epcot, we find ourselves being drawn back to their classic Italian dishes time and again.

It’s like a trusted friend or coming home after a long time away — it’s become a reliable and comfortable staple for us. So you won’t be surprised that we snuck another trip back to Via Napoli into our last trip to Disney World! We are reporting back on whether one of our favorite pizza spots lived up to our cheesy expectations!
In Epcot’s Italy Pavilion at Walt Disney World, guests have a few dining options.
Via Napoli, located at the rear of the pavilion, is the most well-known — and rightly so. Via Napoli tosses fantastic pizzas using ingredients that come very close to what’s used in Naples, making it one of our favorite places to get pizza in all the World (find out why here!).
Tutto Italia is a lovely Italian restaurant on the left side of the pavilion as you enter. Here diners twirl pasta and enjoy Italian specialties.
And there are two snack stands from which to purchase frozen treats, too: the Gelato Stand and the Donkey Cart. (The Donkey Cart is a particular favorite because of its fun design and (most recently) wine pops!)
But the last option might be the biggest hidden gem of the pavilion: Tutto Gusto. It’s here that diners enter an Italian wine cellar, dine on small plates, and just generally escape the chaos of Epcot’s World Showcase.

Wine and cheese are delicious apart, but together we think they make one of the best meals around. That’s why we’re excited that National Wine and Cheese Day is this week!! (A few glasses of red wine and a cheese board to ourselves? Don’t mind if we do!)
