Over the past few months, quite a few changes have been made when it comes to Disney World transportation — including the monorails.
Monorail Station at Walt Disney World Ticket and Transportation Center
Capacity in the monorails is now limited, there are vinyl barriers between some of the sections, and distancing barriers have been added to the rows on some of the monorails to help increase capacity. For a while, Monorail Red has been out for refurbishment, but today it was BACK with a new look! Disney is continuing to implement health and safety procedures as the pandemic continues.

Mask mandates, social distancing, and plexiglass barriers are just some of the health and safety guidelines in place. Many Disney World experiences have been affected by these changes. These changes, like adding plexiglass to certain rides, are designed to make guests safer due to the global pandemic, but they can definitely alter the guest experience on some attractions.Â
We’re almost a year out from when Disney first closed the theme parks in March of 2020, and there are still a lot of health measures in place.
