It’s been a very busy week in Disney World!
We got TONS of announcements and news about upcoming shows, cavalcades, parades, and more! Now let’s get into all the unexpected Disney World news from the week!
There are some BIG changes coming to the Disney Parks this year!
We’ve been bringing you updates about things like the Star Wars hotel and the Splash Mountain Transformation, and we even shared a recent update on a new Toy Story restaurant! Today we’re back with a look at all the areas of Disney World that are currently under construction — let’s check it out!
Disney’s Magical Express was recently discontinued at the start of 2022…but we just spotted a trace of this piece of Disney history in the parks!
Disney’s Magical Express was the complimentary ground transportation service that took Disney World hotel guests to and from Orlando International Airport. The company that provided the service, Mears, now offers a similar paid option for guests, in addition to several other ground transportation services that are available for a fee. But there is still a trace of Disney’s Magical Express left in the parks (for now, at least!) that allows fans the chance to take home a reminder of this piece of Disney history!
There are a lot of different rides in Disney World. Some are nice and slow. Others will jostle you around a bit but aren’t too intense. Some will give you a bit of that thrill factor. And others will truly have you screaming!
Not all rides are created equal, and if you struggle with motion sickness, there are a few at Walt Disney World that you’ll probably want to avoid! We made a list of eight that you’ll likely want to steer clear of if your stomach tends to get queasy with too much motion.
Update: The Disney Dining Plan is now available to book for vacations beginning January 9th, 2024. A full list of participating restaurants, pricing, and more has been revealed. Click here for our full page with the latest Disney Dining Plan updates.
The Disney Dining Plan has been on pause since Disney World shut down in March of 2020.
Disney has said the Dining Plan will return in the future, but hasn’t mentioned a specific timeline or if it will even return in the same form. We may have received some clues that an announcement about the Dining Plan could be coming soon, and many of our readers think it could be returning this year. But, when the Dining Plan returns, will it be a better deal than it was before? Let’s take a look!Â
Hello from Walt Disney World!
It’s the end of January, so you would think the parks wouldn’t be very crowded, right? WRONG! We saw some big crowds this week in Disney World and we were very confused. But, did those crowds lead to long wait times around the parks? Let’s take a look!
We would live at Disney World if we could!
Well, some people on our team live in Orlando, but we’re talking INSIDE the Disney parks day in and day out. Like breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the parks, and then going to sleep on the hub grass, trying to tune out the faint sound of the ‘it’s a small world’ animatronics, churning away in the night. Unfortunately, Disney has a problem with people living in the parks, which is understandable, but we want more park time! Sure there’s Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours, but if you’re not staying at a Disney resort, then these aren’t available to you. Well, gather ’round friends, because we just noticed some of the parks changed their hours for February and March, and we’ve got all the details
Part of planning a Disney World trip is knowing which rides and attractions you want to visit while you’re there. There are all kinds of options, including shows, roller coasters, boat rides, and more.
Sometimes these attractions will be unavailable for a while when Disney is working on some refurbishments or improvements on them. To make sure you know what to expect before your trip, we made a list of everything that will be closed in Disney World next week. Check it out so that you aren’t caught off guard during your vacation! [Read more…]
Disney’s infamous supply chain issues strike again! We’ve seen everything from holiday collection Minnie ears to ornaments showing up around the parks and resorts lately, and we have a feeling all this Christmas-themed merchandise was meant to be released back in December… Either way, we’re always happy to see something new in Disney World!
Today, during our visit to EPCOT, we found a new Star Wars-themed mug!Â
Disney World’s home turf of Florida may be known as the Sunshine State, but a more apt nickname might be the extreme weather state.Â
From hurricanes to heat and humidity to rain that would make Seattle look like the Sahara, you never know exactly what kind of weather you’re going to get when you travel to Disney World. And, over the years, we’ve been in the parks to experience some pretty INTENSE weather (with some storms so bad that Disney has actually CLOSED the parks entirely), but what’s the most EXTREME we’ve ever seen? Let’s buckle up and find out! [Read more…]
