Yes, you read that right, ANOTHER closure has hit Disney World. Disney Springs has been swamped with closures this year, like Sprinkles Cupcakes, Francesca’s, and Shore.

Now, another store has formally closed its doors, and we only got a week’s warning!
Disneyland has already seen so many changes this year, from the Galaxy’s Edge characters to the Avengers Campus expansion. But now, even more changes are coming Disneyland’s way!
Autopia is one of the remaining Disneyland opening attractions and has mostly stayed the same over the years. But Autopia will be totally different soon!
It looks like we’re going to have to retrain ourselves, because Virtual Queue is coming back to Disney World!

Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing a lot of construction for upcoming projects. Monstropolis is progressing rapidly, and we’re getting ready for the opening of both the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets and the Walt Disney Studios. Disney announced that Annual Passholder previews are coming for The Muppets rollercoaster, and the virtual queue is coming with it.
WHAT is going on with the crowds in Disney’s theme parks?! Are they getting worse? Or are things slowing down, perhaps providing you with a glorious little window to visit without feeling like you’re being squished by hundreds of people around you? Well, we’ve got a bit of insight.
On May 6th, 2026, Disney released its earnings report and held its earnings call for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 (Q2 of FY 2026). Thanks to this report, we got a peek behind the curtain when it comes to the finances at Disney. AND it gave us an interesting look at attendance trends at Disney’s theme parks.
It’s that time again, friends. Disney has dropped some huge announcements you do NOT want to miss, and we’ve got all the details right here.
On May 6th, 2026, Disney held its earnings call (and released its earnings report) for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 (Q2 FY 26). Importantly, this is the first earnings call held under the leadership of Disney’s NEW CEO — Josh D’Amaro — since Bob Iger stepped down from his CEO position as of March 17th. While most of the quarter took place under Iger’s leadership, it’s still interesting to see D’Amaro taking over the reins. In this call, we got updates on Disney’s financial position as a whole, just how the theme parks are doing, what things are looking like financially when it comes to Disney’s movies, and MORE. So now, let’s dive into ALL the updates!
As if we didn’t already love Hong Kong Disneyland enough, four changes are coming to the park that we are thrilled about!

Castle of Magical Dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland
Soon, Hong Kong Disneyland will be adding a new land, new attractions, and even a new beloved character to the park. We’ve been telling people that they need to visit Hong Kong Disneyland in the past, but if you weren’t convinced then, you’ll definitely be convinced now!
WHEW! It’s been a BIG week in Disney World when it comes to news, that’s for sure!
Fortunately, this week’s announcements help us plan for our future trips, instead of having announcements that affect us in the next week (those are much harder to plan for, but they DO happen!). No, we didn’t get any major, massive updates on the new additions coming to the parks, like Villains Land, Piston Peak, or Monsters, Inc. (though we did hear about some new permits for that last one), but if you’re planning a trip for the later part of this year, trust us when we say that these announcements will be a BIG help when it comes to planning!
Looking for something to do on Star Wars Day? May the 4th is tomorrow, and Disney just collaborated with a popular video game for fans to enjoy!

Darth Vader in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
If you’re a gamer, you’re going to want to check out three new game modes that were added to Fortnite this week. Star Wars fans and Fortnite fans are going to be locked to their screens all week long
We’re still about a year away from the opening of Disney World’s newest hotel, Lakeshore Lodge, as it’s expected to open in summer 2027, but we recently got invited to a media event that gave us a NEW look at the hotel, thanks to concept art and a boat tour around the construction site.
We’ve seen firsthand how much a project can change from what concept art originally shows, so don’t get us wrong, we’re not expecting EVERYTHING in here to make it to the final product, but it does give us an idea of what Disney’s setting its sights on. Based on what we’re seeing, this hotel may be the pinnacle of relaxation, but there are a few things we’re still left a little confused by.
