Everyone’s going to have an opinion on what we’re about to say, but we’re here to tell you we’re still super sad that one of our favorite character dining meals still isn’t offered.
After almost 3 years post-pandemic closures there are STILL things around Disney World that haven’t reopened. Take, for instance, 1900 Park Fare, 2 locations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and a few more restaurants. What we discovered on a recent trip out to a nearby Disney World hotel, may be more telling than what you think initially. [Read more…]
Well, partners, the time has come.
January 26th marks the very last day of the Country Bear Jamboree as we know it. This show of animatronic bears was one of the opening-day attractions at Disney World back in 1971. Disney shared back in September, 2023 that the Jamboree would be undergoing a refurbishment to modernize the show and make it feel brand-new again. Disney brought in Nashville artists to write the composition for some all-new songs — country music renditions of Disney tunes! Disney also said we can expect to hear some familiar tunes as “easter eggs” from the current show. A lot of Disney fans are pretty bummed to say goodbye to the classic attraction, as the Country Bear Jamboree is one of the last remaining things that Walt Disney himself played a significant role in creating. The new show, Country Bear Musical Jamboree, is set to open this summer. So, shall we go see what crowds in Magic Kingdom look like as folks say their goodbyes?
If you’ve been following along with The Walt Disney Company news at all for the past year or so, then you’ve probably heard about the ongoing battle between Disney and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Disney and DeSantis’s Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board have been fighting for control over Disney’s special tax district. DeSantis stripped Disney of rights over the former Reedy Creek Improvement District after Disney publicly opposed the governor’s decision to pass the Parental Rights in Education Act. Disney then claimed that this was a violation of federal rights, arguing that there had been a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power” against Disney to punish them for their political views. Since then, DeSantis filed a lawsuit against Disney to attempt to undo agreements made between Disney and the former Reedy Creek Improvement District. From there, things get pretty complicated.
Disney has a LOT of plans for movies over the next few years, although some releases ended up getting delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
But we have a LOT to look forward to in 2024, including Inside Out 2, and Mufasa: The Lion King. However, one of the most anticipated Disney movies of the year is a Marvel film, Deadpool 3. Well, that movie was also delayed due to the strikes, but it WILL come out this year and we now have confirmation that the production has finished filming.
Foolish Mortals, we are NOT here with good news.
Disney World’s Haunted Mansion probably lands in our Top 5 Comfort Rides. It’s not weird at all that a ride about murder and ghosts and dead people and failed marriages is comforting to us. We don’t have to talk about it. Anyway, since this is our comfort ride, we ride it like, all the time. Today, we were moving right along in our Doom Buggy when we noticed that a travesty has occurred.
Planning a Disney World trip can be stressful — even if everything goes smoothly.
But, throw a wrench into those plans and things can get pretty hairy pretty quickly. Between hotel construction, dining reservation woes, and ride closures, any number of mishaps can happen on your vacation. And, folks heading to Disney World this morning will likely have to learn that the hard way!
Lunar New Year has arrived in Disney California Adventure!
2024 is the Year of the Dragon, and the park will mark the year’s arrival with the annual Lunar New Year celebration, which takes place from January 23rd through February 18th this year. There will be lots of new eats at the food booths, fun entertainment offerings, merchandise, and more. We’ve already shared the full menus for ALL the booths, but today we’re stopping by the Longevity Noodle Co. booth to review the goods. Come see what we found!
Doesn’t it feel like sometimes you’re seeing something at Disney World for the very first time?
We’re not really talking about new attractions, restaurants, or experiences that have just popped up. No, we’re talking about those things that might as well have been Hidden Mickey’s for all the times we’ve passed them like they were hiding in plain sight. Well, we were today years old when we found out that there are some special Disney World guests who have their own private bus stop and we’d never noticed it!
These days, Minnie ears are such a common Disney World souvenir that you can probably spot at least one pair of ears in a group of ten people. They’ve become a theme park staple — your wardrobe isn’t complete without at least one pair of ears, right?
Whether you have a collection of 17+ ears or you’re just getting started, one thing’s for sure: Minnie ears aren’t going anywhere. In fact, Disney just shared some interesting clues about some upcoming product releases, and we’ve already got an entire LIST of predictions. Let’s take a look!
