Due to the pandemic, Broadway has been dark for quite some time and we haven’t been able to enjoy some of our favorite Disney theatrical shows.

Early last year we also shared the news that the Frozen musical would not reopen on Broadway, although international productions were in the works. There is also a U.S. tour that has been on pause. BUT, if you’re a BIG fan of the Frozen musical and its amazing performers, you’ll soon have the chance to hear behind-the-scenes stories from them and maybe even ask a question too!
We recently celebrated Disney’s leading lady with all things that are Minnie Mouse, and there’s another celebration coming up. International Women’s Day takes place on March 8th!
In the past, Disney has been known to celebrate this day with special snacks and events in the parks! And this year, Disney is celebrating in another exciting way!
We have some exciting news for Broadway fans!
It looks like the release of Hamilton on Disney+ isn’t the only big musical project that Disney has up their sleeve!
Recently, we shared that Broadway will remain dark through the summer season. Currently, the heart of New York City’s theatre district will remain closed through at least September 6, 2020.
When the curtains rise on Broadway once again, there will be one less musical for audiences to see.
Broadway was an early suspension as the global health crisis ramped up, and it may not be able to come back anytime soon.
Today, just hours after we found out that a recording of the Original Broadway Cast of Hamilton will be coming to Disney+, it was announced that Broadway is set to remain closed through labor day, at least.
With the parks currently closed, Disney World and Disneyland have chosen to furlough several Cast and Crew Members beginning April 19th.
More than half of Disney World’s employees were furloughed through the latest agreement with the Service Trades Council Union. We also saw furloughs of other unionized musicians and electrical workers, but now an agreement has been reached regarding unionized performers.
We’ve been doing everything we can to give ourselves a fix of that Disney magic each day (yes, we have our Disney Spotify playlist on repeat).
Although we’ve have watched the Disney Cruise Line’s “Beauty and the Beast” musical, Disneyland’s Magic Happens Parade, and the Illuminations Fireworks in Disneyland Paris, we are SO excited to share that the Disney on Broadway stream has been rescheduled! Awww yeaaah!!
