Hello from the Food and Wine Festival!
There’s SO MUCH to do in Disney World — you can hop on the new TRON Lightcycle / Run roller coaster, check out the Broadway-style “Festival of the Lion King” show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and eat around the world at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival. But there are a couple of things that you CAN’T do in Disney World next week due to ride and attraction closures.

Disney occasionally has to shut down attractions, restaurants, and certain parts of hotels in order to update and refurbish them. To make sure you’re prepared before your upcoming trip, here’s a complete list of the closures scheduled for next week, from July 30th through August 5th.

During a recent trip to EPCOT, we passed by a teeeeny tiny little village full of people with all sorts of backstories and lives we can only view from a giant’s perspective. If you’re in the mood for a laugh on this fine afternoon, you’ve come to the right place.
EPCOT is very busy right now, thanks to the start of the 2023 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival.

We were at the festival on day one and ate ALL the things, and we started to notice that some unwelcome visitors have returned to EPCOT to create some buzz (yes, we’re feeling punny). We’ve dealt with these creatures before, and well, they’re back to create some havoc at this year’s festival. Yes, you guessed it — the BEES are back.
Well, we survived the first day of the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival.
2023 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival
We managed to eat ALL the food, and even made our way through Emile’s Montage Fromage (the cheese crawl). We chased a rat all over EPCOT for a scavenger hunt and enjoyed a concert and a special Spaceship Earth lighting show at the end of the evening. Well, we went back to EPCOT on the first Saturday of the festival (July 29th), and well, we’re going to warn you to NEVER do that.
HUGE changes are coming to EPCOT, and we’re not even talking about all that EPCOT construction going on right now!
Big changes are coming to EPCOT
Yes, EPCOT is still in the middle of its big transformation. Yes, the Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana attraction is coming in the fall. Yes, the CommuniCore Hall and Communicore Plaza Festival Area will open later this year. But we’re talking about something MASSIVE that’s happening on September 22nd and it will change a LOT around EPCOT.

Did you know that a new EPCOT attraction is opening this year? Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana is a walk-through attraction coming to World Nature this fall.

We know that the attraction will be a “lush exploration trail” that allows visitors to “play with magical, living water” and that you’ll learn all about the importance of the natural water cycle during the experience. We’ll just say it — we are BIG fans of the Skyliner in Disney World.

Sure, there are times when it’s down (usually for refurbishment, but also during bad weather), and it sometimes comes with its unique challenges, but it’s still one of our favorite methods of transportation in Disney World. There’s another reason, though, we love the Skyliner, it’s made getting to and from EPCOT a LOT easier!
It’s been a long day full of tons of food reviews, all kinds of entertainment, and even a pickle milkshake. But the 2023 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival has one more trick up its sleeve!
