Disney World has a lot planned for the new year.
From new restaurants and new rides to the return of the Disney Dining Plan, 2024 is going to be a big one for Disney World. In January, five new rule changes will hit the parks…are you ready for them?
We hope you’re ready for big changes this year because Disney World will look a LOT different in 2024.
In January alone, the Disney Dining Plan returned, all-day park hopping is back, and Park Pass reservations have gone away for most guests. With park hopping and Park Pass rules changing, how you book Virtual Queues, Individual Lightning Lane selections, and Genie+ selections looks a little different as well. Here’s what you need to know.
2024 is going to be a big year in Disney World.
We’re getting a new ride in Magic Kingdom, the Disney Dining Plan is returning, and Park Pass Reservations are going away for most guests. If, like us, you’re excited to finally hit the parks without having to worry about snagging a reservation — we have some news for you about how Virtual Queues will work in the new year!
Disney’s Lorcana card game has taken the world by storm…and we have HUGE NEWS that you need to know TODAY!
This trading card game, which released in August, sold out so fast that many have had trouble getting their hands on the cards. We’ve even seen Disney Lorcana card decks turn up online on sites like eBay selling for THOUSANDS of dollars. That’s probably why Amazon is using a virtual queue for the release of the new Disney Lorcana set Rise of the Floodborn.
There is special entertainment, food, and beverages. But some of the biggest perks of these after-hours events are the shorter wait times for the rides! But one very popular ride has a slight change in how it’s run for these holiday events.
It’s true.
One of the BEST parts of attending one of Disney World’s special-ticketed after hours event is being able to ride all the rides with shorter waits and a little bit of extra magic. We attended the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of the year on November 9th, so we were checking out all things hip and happening. One thing that we had been looking forward to was being able to ride the recently-added TRON: Lightcycle / Run ride during the holiday party. Disney announced in the summer that the virtual queue (VQ) for the ride would be available during both Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2023. We were able to use the VQ throughout the Halloween season, but will it be easy and seamless to use for the holidays? Let’s see!
Here comes Santa Claus!!!
No, really! The holidays have arrived in Disney World. Holiday merchandise is EVERYWHERE. Holiday decorations are up in the parks, including the Christmas trees. The gingerbread displays at Disney World hotels are open. The only thing missing is that jolly old elf, Santa Claus. Well, you’ll soon be able to meet the big guy in Disney World — and you won’t even need a park ticket to do it.
A NEW holiday party is kicking off in Disney World in just a few weeks!

Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is brand-new this year and features exclusive parties, rare characters, and LOTS of treats and snacks. But one of the biggest advantages of going to these exclusive Disney events is that you can get on popular rides with little to no wait! Here’s what you need to know about getting on the most popular ride in Hollywood Studios during Jollywood Nights. [Read more…]
The newest Disney World attraction is now officially OPEN!

She’s so beautiful!
Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana has actually been open for a while now, but just as part of the soft opening in EPCOT. Now, as of October 16th, this attraction is officially open and ready to welcome guests. The walk-through attraction is likely going to be very popular for a while as everyone wants to check it out, so Disney has a solution to help manage the demand.
It’s safe to say Disney World will never stop changing and adapting. Blink and it may suddenly look totally different.
Wednesday, October 11th saw a bunch of Disney World news regarding new pricing and park hopping. Focusing on the latter, we learned that new park hopping rules will be implemented on January 9th, 2024 (the same day most Disney World guests will no longer need park reservations). If all of the rule-changing and necessary vacation adjustments weren’t confusing/overwhelming enough, another wrench, albeit a positive one, just got thrown into the mix.
