It’s time for another update about what’s new in EPCOT!
EPCOT has seen a LOT of changes in the last week or so, from the openings of Creations Shop, Club Cool, and even Space 220 restaurant! So what else is new?
For over a year, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted and continues to impact a variety of businesses and individuals around the world.
In the theme park industry, COVID-19 caused massive shutdowns. For several months, many of Disney’s theme parks around the world were closed. We’ve discussed how this impacted the company on various levels during 2020, but now we’ve got more details about just how attendance levels were impacted at all of Disney’s theme parks around the world during 2020.
We’re in the Disney World parks every day, so we keep an eye on any changes and updates that we spot.
Today we’re looking at Disney’s wildest park: Animal Kingdom. Let’s see what’s new or changed as far as the food, merchandise, and construction around here!
Disney World is preparing to debut TWO brand-new fireworks spectaculars next week: Disney Enchantment in Magic Kingdom and Harmonious in EPCOT.
Both of these shows will premiere on the first day of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, which officially begins on Friday, October 1st. As Disney puts the final touches on these shows, those around the resort area may hear (or even see!) some fireworks testing taking place.
We know it’s fall in Magic Kingdom when all those colorful decorations appear on Main Street, U.S.A.
Disney decorates for the holidays a little bit early, but we’re not complaining. We love to see the pumpkins, wreaths, and banners go up. What we WEREN’T expecting, though, was to see some decorations come DOWN today. That’s right — a staple fall decoration was missing from Magic Kingdom today!
Here at DFB, we’re pretty frequent Disney-goers, so we usually notice when things are missing from the parks.
Whether it be an animatronic, a piece of a ride, or a sign that’s out of place, we tend to know when things aren’t right in the parks. But today, something big was missing from a Magic Kingdom ride, and it was pretty obvious!
UPDATE: The welcome show no longer has hours listed for October 1st. Instead, hours are not listed until October 4th. We’ll be on the lookout for more updates.
There are quite a few things happening in Disney World on October 1st!
It’s the 50th Anniversary of Disney World, so there are going to be decorations, special entertainment, and new offerings around all four parks. Now, it looks like a fan-favorite show may be returning that day as well!
We’re constantly keeping an eye out for special deals and discounts at Disney World and Disneyland.
Disney trips can be expensive, so any way to save money is a big deal! We found a new discount available at Disneyland Resort that you’ll want to check out as you plan your upcoming vacation.
Today marks the first day that guests did not need to obtain a boarding pass to ride Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
And as a result, we saw some crowds and some pretty hefty wait times for the attraction that is currently only using a standby-only line. But there will soon be a few ways to beat the line!
The more, the merrier! Duffy and Friends are welcoming a seventh member to their club next week — a sleuthing fox named LinaBell!
LinaBell’s adventurous nature makes her the perfect addition to Duffy’s social circle, which currently consists of ShellieMay, Gelatoni, StellaLou, CookieAnn, and ‘Olu Mel.
