It’s been a big week in Disney World for rides, restaurants, and everything in between, and we’re here to keep you updated on it all!
A Magic Kingdom ride officially reopened this past week, and we got the official reopening date for another! As if that wasn’t enough, we also got a big update about a long-closed spot in EPCOT, and, while it’s not as joyous, we also know about another pool closure coming to a popular hotel. Sounds like a lot? Don’t worry, we’ll keep it simple — here are all the closures you need to know about this upcoming week, along with all the most recent updates we have for each one!
There are multiple new lands under construction in Disney World right now, but one of the ones we’re most looking forward to is the new Monsters, Inc. Land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

This new land is expected to open in 2027, 26 years after the film’s opening in 2001, which goes to show that you never know when Disney may choose to introduce a land based on an old favorite film. This new land won’t only be home to new dining and shopping locations, but also new attractions, including Disney’s FIRST ever suspended coaster. It’s being built at the very back of the new land, so it’s hard to see from the construction walls at the front, but we headed over to the parking lot to be able to see the BIG update that’s taken place!
While we got lots of Disney news this past week about deals and discounts to help make your next trip more affordable, we were grateful that it was another week where major closures didn’t happen around the resort.
While there was one closure in Disney Springs, and we found out another one is on its way, we also heard some INCREDIBLE news about a former beloved spot at Disney’s BoardWalk, AND a Disney World ride that’s been under refurbishment for months now actually reopened EARLY! If you’re visiting Disney World soon, these are the closures you need to know about happening before your trip begins.
For the first time in what feels like forever, Disney didn’t have any major closures or massive changes happen in the past week, and there aren’t a number of them lined up for this week either!
Now, three out of the four parks are still majorly under construction, meaning there are walls practically everywhere, and this week, one store is closing in Disney Springs, but it feels like we’re officially towards reopenings versus closures, which is a HUGE achievement.
This past week in Disney World, one of our FAVORITE spots opened back up after being closed for SIX years — there was a time when we didn’t even know if we’d ever be able to dine there again, and now, we can!
This past week, on March 19th, the Garden View Lounge in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has finally opened back up its doors for guests to experience its beloved tea experience. Reservations for opening day, as well as the weeks following, booked up fast, but keep checking back for reservations! However, in true Disney fashion, that wasn’t the ONLY upcoming change announced last week.
There are so many construction projects in Disney World right now, it’s a little hard to keep track of them all. That’s why we’re here, though, to help you stay updated on them all!
For months now, we’ve been anxiously awaiting updates on NUMEROUS of Disney World’s upcoming attractions across the different parks, and now, all in one week, we got a TON of updates spanning Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
A lot has changed in Disney World in the past week, and if it feels like we say that every week — that’s because it’s TRUE!
So much is happening in the parks right now, we’re constantly keeping our eyes peeled for all the latest updates and news regarding the multiple projects happening around Disney World. This past week, an extremely popular ride officially closed for refurbishment, lots of updates and permits have been filed for ongoing projects, and one of our favorite festivals has begun in EPCOT! So what closures do you need to expect this week? We’ve got you covered.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is no stranger to change — the former Disney-MGM Studios has transformed almost completely since its 1989 opening day, including having its very name changed — and 2026 is no different.
The park is currently in the midst of several massive construction projects, including the March 2nd permanent closure of the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, which is about to be substantially rethemed, with The Muppets replacing “The Bad Boys of Boston.” Now, that’s being reflected on the park’s map!
We thought there were a lot of changes happening last week in Disney World, but as it turns out, this week is filled with even more big changes that will change the parks for good!
Last week’s changes took place primarily in Animal Kingdom, but now, it’s time for Disney’s Hollywood Studios to join in. Yes, that’s right, the day has officially come — starting this week, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will officially close to make way for its new Muppets retheme!
