We have good news from Disney World!!!
Last week was, well, quite a week in the parks. In fact, it was one of the busiest weeks in all of 2024 so far! Between President’s Day Weekend and the Disney Princess Half Marathon, many people took time to visit the parks…but things are changing. We’re taking a look at the average wait times in Disney World from the past week and don’t worry — things are looking up!
Are you a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member?
Maybe you’re thinking about becoming a member (or maybe you’re just interested in renting DVC points for a Disney World stay). We’re sure you know all about the DVC Welcome Home Centers in Disney World, but now you have a NEW DVC Welcome Home Center to visit in Disney World, and this one is SUPER interactive!
I was a Disney World Cast Member, and I’m here to let you in on a rainy day secret. Yes, rainy days at Disney World have their own sort of protocol, especially if you’re a Cast Member.
I used to work at the Haunted Mansion, and although I did spend a lot of time haunting the halls inside the Mansion, there are also quite a few outdoor positions that I worked as well. If you didn’t already know, attractions Cast Members’ shifts consist of rotations that typically last around 35 to 45 minutes. That means that you’ll spend your shift doing different “jobs” around the attraction. For example, a shift at the Mansion for me might have been starting in a stretch room, then heading to the loading belt, then heading to the Lightning Lane podium to scan visitors in. (Not necessarily in that order, but for the safety of Cast Members its best not to reveal where they’d be headed next — ya feel me?) Anyway, occasionally working in outdoor positions taught me a few things about RAIN.
Disney World sees MILLIONS of visitors every year.
So you can imagine that dealing with SO many people on a daily basis can be a challenge for Cast Members. When you visit Disney World, too, there are specific rules that you need to follow (although there are some unwritten rules, too). Some rules, though, get broken so often that Cast Members are literally BEGGING you not to break them. So we’re going to outline one of the most COMMON offenses (and what to do INSTEAD).
Hey, friends! We’re back with another DFB Video covering all the latest Disney news!

EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival
A new EPCOT festival has started, major changes to 2025 Disney World vacation packages, big news coming from Tokyo DisneySea’s Fantasy Springs, and everything you need to know if you’re going to Disney World this week.
Another day, another Disney World change.
No matter when you visit the parks, there’s a pretty good chance that they’ll be at least a little bit different than the last time you were there. But, that usually means Disney is working on the latest and greatest new attraction or experience to bring to folks. Whether it’s a big change or small, we’re on the lookout for it — and we may have just found one in Animal Kingdom!
Let us begin with a little personal anecdote. As the resident Disney EXPERTS around here, our family and friends come to us with any and EVERY kind of Disney-related question. This includes questions like, “So what exactly is Genie+?” and “Where should I go to eat when I’m at Magic Kingdom?” Often, we’re also asked questions that only a human Disney encyclopedia would know the answer to, like “Where can I go to fill my water bottle?” And guess what? We have answers to it ALL!

Disney World
But if you don’t have your own personal Disney encyclopedia at your disposal, we’ve got a solution! When it comes to obscure Disney information, sometimes, you’ve gotta go straight to the source. Let us explain!
Back in 2023, Disney announced that the Cabins at Fort Wilderness would be getting a makeover. Imagineers have redesigned these spaces to become the Disney Vacation Club Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort (but you don’t have to be a Disney Vacation Club member to book a stay in a new cabin.)
We’ve been keeping up with all the updates Disney has revealed about the new cabins, but what’s going to happen to the old ones? We know Disney will be getting rid of them, so will they be gone for good? Our answer might just be hiding…in the Grand Canyon.
There is just SO much going on in Disney World right now — so many things are changing!
We’ve got new restaurants on the way at Disney’s BoardWalk Hotel. We’ve got a land re-theme coming up in Animal Kingdom. We’ve got a whole EXPANSION planned for Magic Kingdom. Plus, Magic Kingdom is getting a new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (formerly Splash Mountain). Well, we’ve got a big update about that ride!
