Hey, everyone, we’re back with another update from Disney World! Today, we’re walking the red carpet down to Hollywood Studios to see what’s changed from our last visit.
There’s some construction and new merch to check out, so let’s get to it!
While it ain’t easy being green, — it also ain’t easy being a Muppets fan at Disney World right now!
The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History has left Magic Kingdom and Epcot’s Regal Eagle Smokehouse (fronted by the greatest patriot of our times, Sam the Eagle) has yet to open! But the blows haven’t stopped there! Muppet*Vision 3D is currently closed for refurb, and TODAY we noticed a very important figurehead of Muppet fandom is MISSING!
If you are planning on visiting Hollywood Studios in the next month, you may want to double-check your itineraries. A fan-favorite show is set to undergo a brief refurbishment.
While we share a look at what will be down for refurbishment each week, we thought we’d give you guys a bit more of a heads up about another attraction. It looks like Muppet*Vision 3D is closing temporarily.

For those keeping track of changes at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week, there’s one more to add to the list. You already likely know that the construction of Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land is now officially underway, as evidenced by the very recent closure of Streets of America fixtures such as Studio Catering Co. and the Lights! Motors! Action Extreme Stunt Show to make way for the new ventures.
But what about Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano? It was always part of the former Streets of America section of the park, and yet it’s still in operation. (Yay!)
Well, it’s now part of the newly renamed Muppets Courtyard! The new name of this area of the park is revealed in the updated Guide Map for Disney’s Hollywood Studios (it’s listed on the bottom right of the shot below). [Read more…]
Okay, let’s face it: construction walls covering up refurbishment areas in Disney World are something we’re pretty used to seeing. They cover everything from the upcoming Frozen Ever After attraction in the former home of Epcot’s Maelstrom to Avatar Land in Animal Kingdom to the ongoing transformation of Disney Springs, and then some.
And we’re bound to spot more and more very soon as Disney’s Hollywood Studios expands to add both Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land.

I will admit to you that I am a Muppet fan, a serious Muppet fan. I mean, like, I’ve loved the Muppets for as long as I can remember. Sadly, years gone by, they sort of fell off my radar.
I am, however, happy to announce that with the release of The Muppets I was able to fall back in love at my favorite movie theater, The El Capitan.
If you’ve got Muppet fever, then you must know about a very special event going on at Disney’s Soda Fountain (aka El Capitan’s next door neighbor), Disney’s Most Sensational Muppet Party. Muppets, food, cupcakes, and a special surprise…what could be better!!! My two sons and I were recently treated to a very special afternoon in Hollywood. Read on to hear all about it!
Before we dive into the review, I want to let you know the details if you’d like to book your spot at The Most Sensational Muppet Party! It’s offered pre- or post-movie at Disney’s Soda Fountain on Saturdays and Sundays, November 23rd through January 5th. Available party times are [Read more…]
I’m currently working on a very fun post about a fabulous Muppet Party going on at Disney’s Soda Fountain in honor of the new Muppets movie release. However, I couldn’t wait to share a tasty treat that is being offered in honor of my favorite frog and pig.
The gorgeous Rainbow Connection Sundae is currently available at Disney’s Soda Fountain and will remain available throughout the movie’s run (Nov 23rd- Jan 8th) next door at the El Capitan theater.
The “official” description of the sundae is Luscious vanilla ice cream surrounded by strawberry syrup, caramel, and a marshmallow rainbow. My personal description: a sundae cup full of happiness. I mean, I was smiling from ear to ear as soon as it was placed in front of me.
My boys had taken a trip to the restroom upon delivery, so I was completely prepared to dig in without them! I, personally, am not a huge chocolate fan (Gasp! I know, I get that alot), so when I read that the Rainbow Connection was vanilla based, I knew it was [Read more…]
