Have you been to a galaxy far, far away lately?
We’re, of course, talking about the planet Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World! We decided to swing by the most hoppin’ place in the system at Oga’s Cantina and we noticed some changes!
If you’ve been to Disney World before, chances are you know that feeling: you just want to get from one side of Magic Kingdom to the other, but you’re met with a wall of crowds or a parade or cavalcade, slowing you down big time! Well, did you know that there are SECRET walkways that can help you avoid those crowds?
Okay, so maybe these walkways aren’t a complete secret, but there are often-overlooked walkways in the parks that can help you save some time while getting from point A to point B — or, at least it will make your walk more pleasant and crowd-free. With the 50th Anniversary Celebration bringing in plenty of visitors, it’s more important than ever to be aware of where the shortcuts and alternate routes are in the parks!
When it comes to favorite lands at Disney World, everyone has their own opinion!
While some Disney fans think Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is one of the best-themed lands in all of Disney World, others think that World Showcase is completely underrated by EPCOT guests. And some guests love the charm of Fantasyland, while others prefer the bioluminescent details of Pandora. No matter how you cut it, though, Disney fans think some lands are overrated, while others aren’t. So we asked you, our DFB readers, about the lands at Disney World! And here’s what 23,000 of you said!
Happy October! After MONTHS of preparing and waiting for the 50th Anniversary Celebration this month, it’s finally here! So much has changed in Disney World since the beginning of the year; it would take a novel to break down all the changes and announcements since January.
Instead, let’s look back at all the new things we found out in September! (There’s a lot — see if you remembered it all!)
In a galaxy not far, far away, people will soon be able to “board” the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser (aka the Star Wars hotel) for a 2-night immersive Star Wars experience in Disney World.
Disney is still releasing information about what’s included in this 2-night itinerary, which carries a hefty price tag, and you’ll probably want to know about one Galaxy’s Edge spot that is NOT included in the price of a Star Wars hotel reservation. So if you’re budgeting for a visit to a galaxy far, far away — read on.
Even though many new offerings arrived at Disney World this week, there are still several things to come!
We’re anticipating the completion of the EPCOT transformation, watching the construction progress on the Tron coaster, and hoping to visit Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana ASAP. However, one thing that we HAVE experienced is Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser!
We’ve been wearing MagicBands since 2013, and now they’re about to get a BIG glow-up for Disney World’s 50th anniversary!
The newest generation of Disney’s MagicBand will be known as the MagicBand+, and they’re adding a ton of fun features that will contribute to the whole Disney World experience! We already shared that the new service will be making its way to Disney World, but now let’s look at some of the details.
Today marks the first day that guests did not need to obtain a boarding pass to ride Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
And as a result, we saw some crowds and some pretty hefty wait times for the attraction that is currently only using a standby-only line. But there will soon be a few ways to beat the line!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance remains one of the most popular rides in Disney World.
Until recently, the only way to experience this attraction, however, was to tap those fingers VERY quickly and try to get one of a limited number of available Boarding Groups. But, starting today, September 23rd, Disney paused the use of Boarding Groups for Rise of the Resistance. That means you can now just hop in the regular standby line to get in on all the Star Wars fun. Just how long did it take us to ride the ride today? We’re sharing all of that information with you right here!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has some of the coolest merchandise in all of Disney World!
You can build your own droid, buy a shoulder porg, or even special soda bottles (when they’re available)! But, of course, the most popular souvenirs are the lightsabers, of course. You can make your own lightsaber during the experience at Savi’s Workshop, but if you don’t want to do that, you can also buy lightsabers over at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities! And now, 3 very popular lightsabers have made their return to the shop!
