And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!
It’s finally November, which in Disney World, means the start of the holiday season!
After Halloween on October 31st, Cast Members worked overnight to transform Magic Kingdom into a Christmas-y wonderland, complete with a gigantic tree, wreaths down Main Street, U.S.A., and so much more. But, it seems that not every spot in Disney World got the holiday memo…because we’re living in a really weird Twilight Zone version of the parks right now!
We had a VERY full month of news last month!

Cinderella Castle
From Disney World’s 50th Anniversary to spooky Halloween fun, there has been some BIG Disney news this past month. Now, we’re taking a look at the three most UNEXPECTED things that happened in Disney World in October!
Disney World has been very busy decorating for the holidays recently.
We’ve seen decorations go up in a few of the parks, new holiday merchandise online and in the stores, and even some new holiday treats at the bakeries. But if you’re wondering what happened to Thanksgiving, never fear! There are still a couple of treats that remember it’s still fall! And we found one of them in Disney’s Animal Kingdom today.
Heading to Disney World soon?
You’ll want to make sure you’re prepared for any of the closures that are happening inside the parks or resorts. Well, it’s official — Disney Genie has launched at Disney World, and we have spent lots of time trying to figure out everything we could about it!

Disney Genie has launched!
And we’ve covered everything we could think of, from how smart we think Disney Genie is to how many rides we can do in a day with Genie+ to the 120-minute rule. But we also asked YOU, our DFB readers, what you think about Genie and what it can do on Instagram.
To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.
Ever since Disney World reopened to guests in 2020, the parks have seen shorter wait times, smaller crowds, and lower capacities. As things begin to return to “normal”, we’ve seen some changes around the parks and resorts. The further into the year we get, the more Disney is beginning to feel like it did before the pandemic.
But one major thing is still pretty different in Disney: many international guests haven’t been able to visit Disney World since reopening. Soon, though, that will change.
Alright, listen, we all understand that Disney World (OK, the WHOLE world!) has been through an ORDEAL in the last couple of years.
Park closures, health and safety measures, a bazillion and one changes to the way we do things in the parks…some days it has been nothing but pure chaos. Even though things have slowly returned to “normal” in the parks, all of the chaos of the last few years got us thinking — with all the ways that Disney has adapted to the ever-changing world around us, what would the theme parks be like in the most outlandish, ridiculous, out-of-the-box scenario we could think of? Today, we’re discussing what Disney World would do in a zombie apocalypse! (Yes, we’re serious!)
