From the refurbishment of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover to the extensive work going on at the Rivers of America, there are all kinds of refurbishment and construction projects going on in Disney World.

But, the refurbishments aren’t just going on in the parks. We’ve also seen refurbishments at several resorts including the refurb of the pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, the changes coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and the refurbishment scheduled for the pool at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. The water area at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is also set to undergo some refurbishment.
There are quite a few construction and refurbishment projects going on around Disney World. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is currently undergoing a big refurbishment, with some Moana themed elements coming to its guest rooms in the future. There are HUNDREDS of great places to eat at Walt Disney World, and while many of those lie behind the gates of Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom, there are tons of spots you can dine at for a magical meal without having to step foot into a theme park. Disney Springs alone has over 60 dining options!
It can be a LOT to try and navigate the best spots to dine at when visiting Disney World in general. And now, with Park Passes and shorter hours meaning you may not be in a theme park every day for every meal, knowing where to dine at Disney Springs or at one of Disney’s currently open resort hotels can be overwhelming.
Even though there won’t be a fireworks show in Disney World for New Year’s Eve this year, there are SO many ways to ring in 2021!
Several Disney Springs restaurants are having special events, certain resort restaurants are staying open past midnight, and so much more. And now, we just found a special surprise that showed up on a few menus at Disney resorts!
Since Disney World has reopened, character experiences have looked a bit different than before. This not only includes meet-and-greets in the parks but character dining experiences too!
That’s why as soon as we heard Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort (one of the most iconic character dining locations in all of Disney World) would be bringing its characters back, we knew we had to check it out! While there were some issues originally trying to grab a reservation, we were lucky enough to snag one. This meal has been updated when it reopened in July, serving breakfast to your table as an all-you-care-to-eat meal, rather than the usual buffet.
Starting tomorrow, December 16th, Chef Mickey and friends are coming BACK to Chef Mickey’s!
This fan-favorite character buffet restaurant reopened at Disney’s Contemporary Resort back in July with no buffet and no characters (but a much, much lower price). It also swapped its buffet for a family-style meal.
