Greetings from Colonial America — also known as Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom! We recently learned of an exciting appetizer at Liberty Tree Tavern, and we had to try it! And once I got there, something a little lighter caught my eye as well. So when in Rome — or 1776, right?!
Liberty Tree Tavern is a full service restaurant in Liberty Square, themed after Colonial America. It’s always been known for its huge Thanksgiving style meal, served family-style, for dinner — and now that platter is available for lunch as well. But we were here for something a little newer…and a little different!

The new year has begun, and what better way to start the year than with lunch at one of our favorite Walt Disney World table service restaurants: Liberty Tree Tavern! You know this colonial-esque spot as the premier place to get a turkey dinner in Magic Kingdom, but the lunch menu also offers a la carte options, so I got into that for ya, too!
Liberty Tree Tavern takes its colonial roots seriously, and diners can see that in the decor. Each room is packed to the gills with details from the time period, and if you look closely, you’ll see that rooms are themed to colonial figures. George Washington gets a place of prominence over the mantle in his room.

No trip to Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square is quite complete without a stop at the land’s quick service restaurant, Columbia Harbour House, or a meal at Liberty Tree Tavern, Liberty Square’s table service option.
And Liberty Tree Tavern just so happens to be our stop for lunch today. We can never resist some of the old favorites here… but there’s also a Secret Menu item that we have to let you know about!
Liberty Tree Tavern brings guests into the American Revolutionary era, well in keeping with Liberty Square. [Read more…]
Walt Disney World seriously rocks
when it comes to offering a wide variety of dining options, and while we often find ourselves gravitating toward fried delights like classic Chicken Nuggets and carbolicious eats like Sanaa’s Bread Service, we still like to get our veggies in. Occasionally. Okay, really only to justify eating more cupcakes, but I digress.
Still, salads have their place, and we know that a lot of our readers enjoy the freshness and healthfulness of a plate of vegetables even when in a World full indulgent options. So we’ve culled our experience and that of our instagram readers for some great table service and counter service salad options that are satisfying and delicious. Thanks to our readers and followers for sharing their favorites!
We’re starting off with the most renowned salad in all the World: the Hollywood Brown Derby Cobb Salad. This salad is an institution at the original Hollywood Brown Derby in California, and the Disney version of the restaurant has captured the original version of the salad perfectly.
It was another busy week in the Magic Kingdom! We found must-have merch, price increases, snack updates, construction and more!
We’ll start off with some construction updates. We are getting so excited for the Tron ride! In addition to this “billboard” promoting the ride that you see while you’re on the train we could spot cranes and equipment — signs they are working away to have the ride ready for 2021.
We have been on the lookout for new, higher prices at many restaurants and snack stands around the parks since we first spotted the increases earlier this month. Our latest visit to the Magic Kingdom had us collecting a few new prices for you.
That’s right, add a few more dollars to your wallet or on your gift cards (we found Christmas themed ones are now available!) to eat at the following Magic Kingdom locations.
