The Disney resort is changing in tons of ways, and while we are excited about the new expansions, it’s pretty jarring to see this many updates at once. Now, another Disney World building has bit the dust — literally!
2025 has seen seveal permanent closures come to Walt Disney World.

Some of most upsetting to some Disney fans came in July, when an iconic, day one portion of the Magic Kingdom closed to make way for the upcoming Cars-themed Piston Peak sub-land coming to Frontierland.
Disney has been announcing new lands, attractions, and entertainment headed to the theme parks, and we can’t WAIT.

Keeping up with the latest construction permits Disney World files can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels. Recently, Tom Sawyer Island permanently closed to make way for the NEW Piston Peak National Park — a Cars-themed land coming to Magic Kingdom. And now, a new permit has been filed for this transformation!
