The spring break crowds are upon Disney World. And, as we always say, the good thing about more people is MORE FOOD!
Happy weekend! Here’s all the Disney food news this week!
The 2019 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival kicked off March 1 and we have the FULL MENUS here! Oh, and we’ve also got SECRET menu info and reviews for you!
AND – the opening dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge were announced for BOTH Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
We have a lot to share with you this week, so let’s jump right in…
Aunt Polly’s is a VERRRRY seasonal quick service spot uniquely located on Tom Sawyer Island at Walt Disney World. Finding this fun, casual restaurant open is a bit of challenge, but when you do, it’s a terrific place to grab a quick bite — particularly when the weather is amenable to outdoor dining on the front porch! And for a short time this month, Aunt Polly is welcoming diners!
The restaurant will be open from March 9-16 between 11AM-3PM and serving up some simple quick service eats! Becky’s Buttery Biscuit BBQ Sliders are back (Click here to read our review of Aunt Polly’s Biscuit BBQ Pork Sliders!), and we love the quaintness of the Peanut Butter and Raspberry Preserve Sandwich.
According to Magic Kingdom Cast Members, Aunt Polly’s on Tom Sawyer Island in Magic Kingdom will be reopening to serve food once again for a limited time to Magic Kingdom guests!
Our sources say that the beloved spot will be open daily from December 22nd through January 5th. Tom Sawyer Island will be receiving guests (coming by raft, of course) from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM most days (with the exception of December 22nd, when it may not open until 11:00 AM). However, please note that Aunt Polly’s will have different operating hours, which we are waiting to confirm at this time.
We also look forward to confirming menu information for you tomorrow!
For those unfamiliar with Aunt Polly’s, this counter service location is beloved by many who made memories (and consumed some famous fried chicken) when it was open on a regular basis back in the day.
Disney History buffs are going to love this news out of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom!
After a hiatus of, oh, about forever — it seems that Aunt Polly’s on Tom Sawyer Island is serving food and beverages once more!
This is one for the books! After all, it’s been eons since we’ve seen anything substantial for sale here. Even the vending machines that have been in place here in recent years hadn’t been in service.
Now, before you get too awfully excited, you should know that the menu is limited. Very limited. Make the trip over to Tom Sawyer Island looking for sustenance, and you’ll find Sandwiches (Turkey and PB&J), Veggies and Hummus, Chips, Fresh Fruit, and an Assortment of Cold Beverages, including Lemonade. Note that, at least for now, they are not offering fountain drinks.
While it doesn’t sound like much, there are two reasons to love this move by Disney: [Read more…]
