A Word of WARNING If You’re Heading to Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts

Okay, so this is the season of closures in Disney World, thanks to all the planned construction around the parks with new lands, expansions, rides, and more on the way (so much new stuff is being planned, y’all).

However, sometimes unplanned closures can throw a wrench in your day, and that’s something we’ve been informed about that’s happening at Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts. The bridge that connects Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter to Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside is currently closed due to unplanned construction work.

Well, it has CERTAINLY been a big week for Disney World news, right?

We finally got LOADS of new details about the Cars expansion coming to Frontierland, including that it will be called Piston Peak, and that it will introduce some new characters into the Cars universe (now if only Disney would drop some hints about what kind of FOOD this expansion will have — we have questions!). Anyway, speaking of food, we’ve been monitoring menu changes at Disney World restaurants all week, so let’s take a look at what’s been updated.

Wow…what a week in Disney World. We just got the news that the seasonal foodie celebration, Flavors of Florida, will start soon, and we’re readying our tastebuds for that.

However, we’ve also been munching on some Stitch-themed treats to celebrate the release of the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie, while enjoying a new snack in EPCOT that’s served in a coconut shell (because why not?). Memorial Day weekend means summer has arrived in Disney World, and we are so ready for it (okay, maybe we’re not so ready for all the heat and humidity).

There’s so much to look forward to this summer. TWO new shows are set to debut soon in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, while a new parade will soon make its premiere in Magic Kingdom. Now, summer is generally kinda’ a slow time when it comes to food, but that doesn’t mean that Disney World restaurants aren’t still changing up their menus. So, yes, Disney World restaurant menus changed this week, so let’s take a look at what’s been updated.

Um…What’s Happening With Peel-and-Eat Shrimp at Disney World Restaurants?

It’s been another great week in Disney World.

We got to see the Disney Dreamers Academy parade (which only happens once a year). We drank a VERY cool cocktail at The Polite Pig in Disney Springs. We even learned about some new character experiences coming to Disney World. However, we also kept an eye on Disney World restaurant menus, and yep, we’ve got some changes and updates to tell you about this week.

First off, there seems to be something going on with peel-and-eat shrimp! We have seen it removed from 3 menus in March — at Sebastian’s Bistro, Garden Grill, and last week at Akershus. This could be a supply chain or food cost issue, or maybe it is losing popularity? We’re not sure, but read on for more recent menu changes!

This week marked the start of the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, so we’ve been a little obsessed with checking out everything you can see and do at the festival, as well as EVERYTHING you can eat.
