We’ve been checking out all the new Valentine’s Day treats arriving this month, and now there’s another special offering you can grab this weekend — a new corkcicle from Wine Bar George!
Although this is Disney World’s calm before the storm (the storm being spring break crowds), there are plenty of reasons to visit the parks right now!
TRON Lightcycle / Run is now in previews with its first-of-a-kind Disney ride feature, adaptive seating, and on-ride photos. The Festival of the Arts is still happening in EPCOT (even though it’s almost over!). There are plenty of new delicious eats to try all over Disney World. Maybe that’s why we started to see the wait times go UP this week!
Today was a BIG day for us — we got to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run for the first time!
This ride officially opens to the public on April 4th, but Cast Member previews and media previews are currently happening, with Annual Passholder previews coming up. We got to take our first ride today, and now we have a WHOLE ride-through for you!
With so many new designs coming out each week, it’s hard to resist purchasing a new pair of Minnie Ears whenever you spot a design that calls to you.
That is why when there’s a sale going on, we hop on the chance to check those items off of our wish list!
Okay, so who’s excited to ride the new TRON Lightcycle / Run in Disney World?

Can you believe it’s almost time for TRON to debut?!
TRON Lightcycle / Run officially opens in Magic Kingdom on April 4th, 2023, but Disney is hosting previews for select groups of people. We’ve seen teaser after teaser and we’ve been watching the construction for years, but it is TIME — we got to ride TRON!
If you’re a big Disney fan, you’ve probably noticed that the company is leaning pretty heavily into its intellectual property at the moment.
They’re relying on big brands and franchises like Star Wars and Marvel to carry the Disney+ streaming service, and they’re bringing films like Moana, Frozen, and Guardians of the Galaxy prominently into the parks. And most of the time, we understand WHY they choose to feature the films that they do…but there’s one film that Disney CEO Bob Iger has mentioned frequently that we’re a little confused about.
The battle surrounding Disney’s Reedy Creek District has only just begun.
The Reedy Creek Improvement District (now called the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District — “the District”) previously gave Disney a substantial amount of control over the land it sits on — it worked that way for 50+ years. But now things have changed. In the aftermath of the friction between Disney and Florida Governor Ron Desantis over Disney’s reaction to Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Bill, the Florida legislature and DeSantis signed a bill into law that was going to dissolve RCID in June of 2023. Plans later changed and while the District itself has continued, it now has a new Board appointed by the Governor (not voted in by Disney) and is subject to new rules. But that’s not the end of the story.
