There’s a lot of change happening in Disney World right now! Some of the changes are sweet, like new attractions, new snacks, and more. Some of the changes, though, have left us a bit salty.

Disney has also demolished several classic buildings, closed beloved lands, and more! Sure, that’s left us a bit salty, but when life gives you salt, add some butter and popcorn. What makes that popcorn even better? A gorgeous new popcorn bucket to enjoy it in!
Shanghai Disney Resort is celebrating a huge milestone: welcoming its 100 millionth guest in just over 9 years. And what better way to celebrate than announcing an expansion? Even more Disney fun will be coming to the resort, and Shanghai Disney just shared a sneak peek.

Shanghai Disney Resort just announced plans to build a brand-new hotel AND expand its shopping, dining, and entertainment district. The new hotel will be located near the entrance to Shanghai Disney, and the development will feature new shopping experiences.
To many, the holiday season is the “most wonderful time of the year,” and when it comes to Walt Disney World, the most important time of day during that period is 4:00 PM. See, for guests at the Magic Kingdom during November and December, that’s the definitive time of their day. It’s when guests attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party can begin entering the park, and when guests without party tickets need to start wrapping up their day.
Decorations during the day
I’ve been visiting Walt Disney World for 30+ years, and learned that lesson the hard way back in 2009. That year, I was in Florida with several friends when we decided on a whim to visit Walt Disney World during a free day, and chose the Magic Kingdom without looking at the park’s schedule. We purchased our tickets at a kiosk in the lobby of our off-property hotel (this was in the nascent smartphone era, so not everything was handled online) and arrived at the Magic Kingdom around 10:00 AM… only to discover that it was a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party day, and that the park would be closing to regular day guests at 6:00 PM. In other words, when 4:00 PM rolled around, we needed to start wrapping up our day and rushing to fit in any final attractions. Womp Womp.
When we hear the words “new snacks” in relation to Disney World, our mouths almost immediately start watering — especially when those new snacks are coming to Animal Kingdom!

Animal Kingdom is known for having some of the best food in all the Disney World parks, whether it’s full meals or snacks. So hearing that NEW snacks are coming to the park to celebrate the opening of Zootopia: Better Zoogether! was EXACTLY the news we wanted to wake up to this morning!

We’re still surprised, though, when these things turn up. Today, we were surprised to see a sign at EPCOT indicating that America’s Funniest Videos is looking for audience members to vote on some funny videos today in the park. NICE!
Well, it’s happened. We’ve said goodbye to spooky season in Disney World, and hello to the holiday season (the first decorations have started popping up!).

We’ll soon be eating ALL the festive holiday food and drinking all the fun holiday drinks. We’re counting down the days to the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights, too. In the meantime, though, Disney World restaurants are changing their menus, including Homecomin’ and Yak & Yeti, so let’s see what’s been updated.
Okay, we’ve been there. You plan a trip to Disneyland, only to discover that one of your favorite rides is closed for refurbishment. Granted, we sometimes have a little heads up when Disneyland closes rides, but we’re never entirely sure of when they’ll reopen. Well, that’s not the case with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed in September for a months-long refurbishment. Well, it looks like as of today, the ride has officially reopened.

The holiday season is about to kick off in Disney World, and with it comes peppermint treats, red and green merchandise in every shop, and of course, a nearly ridiculous amount of Christmas decorations. But one of the best parts of the holiday season? The Jingle Cruise!
You know, one thing I feel that is missing from EPCOT’s World Showcase, particularly in the China Pavilion, is a spot to grab dim sum.
