HOORAY!! We’re one huge step closer to a new burgers-and-fries spot in Epcot…
As Disney moves forward in eliminating the waste from single-use plastics across the company’s worldwide destinations, we’re noticing more and more changes around the Walt Disney World parks and resorts as part of the initiative.
Just yesterday, we talked about the transition from plastic to paper straws currently taking place at Counter Service restaurants in Magic Kingdom. And today we’re scoping out the straw scene in Epcot, where similar swaps are underway. [Read more…]
Hey, there! We’re back with another DFB Video today, and we’re talking about our favorite (and least favorite) Epcot Quick Service spots!
There is no shortage of terrific food options in Epcot thanks to the wide range of cuisines represented in the park’s World Showcase (and even in Future World). So how on earth do you go about narrowing them down to the ones you’d like to visit? Well, that’s where this list comes in… we’re sharing our favorite (and least favorite) Counter Service food locations in Epcot to help you make your choice. (And if you already have some favorites of your own, we’d love to hear about those, too!) [Read more…]
Greetings from Epcot’s Future World!!
We stopped by the Electric Umbrella today and were surprised to find that the menu has received a pretty substantial makeover.
My immediate reaction, honestly? I was kind of bummed! I know that Electric Umbrella isn’t really a prime destination when it comes to dining in Epcot, where so much variety can be enjoyed — especially around World Showcase.
But that’s exactly why it has been fun to to find some truly decent eats in this Future World Counter Service spot over the past couple years. The French Dip Burger has actually been one of the tops in regards to Quick Service burgers for some time now. And I’ve totally enjoyed the Sausage and Pepper Sandwich and the unique Veggie Naan Wich even more recently. Good surprises, all, for a place that mostly flies under the radar.
But they’re all gone from the new menu.
And in their place? Well, let’s go down the list. First we’ve got the Mojo Pork Burger, which is similar to the previous French Dip Burger in that it’s another meat-topped-with-even-more-meat sandwich.
Marinated Mojo Pork tops the 1/3 pound burger, and it’s all drizzled with a Cilantro Lime Aioli and served with fries.
And much as I may miss the French Dip Burger, I’d be lying if I said the new Brisket Sandwich didn’t have me intrigued.
Starting today, when the My Disney Experience app is updated, guests will be able to use their Disney Dining Plan credits to pay for Counter Service meals and snacks that they’ve ordered using Mobile Order! [Read more…]
Kringla Bakeri og Kafe
Granted, right now much of what I’m spotting in Norway are construction walls, as the Pavilion simultaneously preps for the summer openings of the Frozen Ever After attraction (in the former home of Maelstrom…sob!) and a new Frozen Character Meet and Greet.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth stopping by to grab some favorite Norwegian treats like Skolebrød (School Bread) or a Troll Horn, which is exactly what I was expecting to find on my recent trip. And while I did indeed find those, I also found another old favorite… albeit in an all-new form.
So, how does it measure up? Let’s find out!
Kringla Bakeri og Kafe is the little bakery packed with all sorts of Scandinavian goodies in the Norway Pavilion.
Inside, lots of wooden paneling and candlelit chandeliers decorate the snug space. [Read more…]
We are back at Liberty Inn, the Quick Service spot in The American Adventure in Epcot!
If you’re strolling around World Showcase and are on the hunt for some perfectly patriotic eats, Liberty Inn is your place. For a long time, offerings were pretty basic at this Counter Service location, which primarily features expected fare like burgers, chicken breast nuggets, and salads.
While that still holds true in most regards, it’s worth noting that Liberty Inn made some strides late last year towards providing a couple of options that reflect a greater array of American cuisine, including a few regional dishes like a Lousiana-Style Shrimp dish as well as Maryland Crab Cakes.
However, the menu has changed up once again, so we returned to scope out the situation and see what’s new, what’s gone, and how things are shaping up.
So, let’s step back into everyone’s favorite Publick Dining Room, Liberty Inn! [Read more…]
