From the “Caring for Giants” tour in Disney’s Animal Kingdom to the iconic “Keys to the Kingdom” tour in Magic Kingdom, there are some GREAT ways to see what goes on backstage in Disney World. But one special tour, DiveQuest, has been closed for a LONG time. But it’s returning, and SOON!

Magic Kingdom is expanding, Hollywood Studios is bringing Monsters Inc. to life, and that’s just scratching the surface. Now it seems like another Disney World restaurant is permanently closing and we’ve got the details right here!
Well, here we are, folks. Another day, another closure at Disney World — and this time, it’s permanent.

We’ve been dreading this day for a while, especially since the date of this attraction’s demise was officially announced. And, now that It’s Tough To Be a Bug is officially GONE from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, parts of this park look completely different — and those dreaded Disney World construction walls are back.
It’s time to shake off the seasonal depression — spring is just around the corner!

As the busy holiday season starts to wind down, it is not uncommon for Disney to perform routine maintenance on rides and attractions, but the number of closures around all the parks is getting out of control. While some of these closures are temporary, others are permanent, and the list seems to continue to grow.
Disney’s theme parks change all the time; this is a common thing at all of them around the world.
Fantasy Springs Arendelle castle in Tokyo Disney Sea
Rides we love can close to make way for new ones, and even entire lands can get re-themed into something brand new. This isn’t a new concept for Disney, but it can be hard to accept. Now, one ride over at Tokyo Disneyland will officially be closing in Tomorrowland forever so that a new ride may take its place.
While many closures have been announced for Disney World, one closure is about to hit EPCOT next week.

Just earlier this month, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy closed permanently to make way for a new Disney Villains stage show coming to Hollywood Studios. The closures of DinoLand U.S.A. and Tom Sawyer Island, along with the Rivers of America, are imminent, as they will soon close to make way for new attractions. Currently, Test Track is closed in EPCOT as it is being reimagined into a third version of the attraction. Soon, another experience at EPCOT will close, but this closure is permanent.
We knew the day was coming, but it it almost time for more construction in the parks.

At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, we got a ton of news about new offerings coming to all four parks. Magic Kingdom will be getting two new Cars-themed attractions, and they will go in the current place of Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America. Villains Land is also finally becoming a reality and will be built just “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain.” Animal Kingdom will get four new attractions, three in Pueblo Esperanza (the Tropical Americas-themed land), and Zootopia: Better Zoogether! will be a brand new show in the Tree of Life. EPCOT has ongoing construction at Test Track as the ride will open in its third version next year. Now, it is finally time for Hollywood Studios to start work next week. It was announced that the park would be home to a Monsters Inc.-themed land, but there was another announcement that came shortly after D23 wrapped up.
