food IS a theme park
We’ve seen lots of spots reopening around Walt Disney World lately.
But others are still closed. We’ve even seen some spots open, close, and then reopen. But we’re particularly surprised that three fan-favorite restaurants have not yet reopened!
Whether you’re looking to drink a delicious Lapu Lapu or enjoy some chicken nugget sushi (YES! This is a REAL thing!), Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has some seriously delicious options.
Well, now, you may be able to experience Kona Cafe and another Disney resort restaurant with a little less advance planning thanks to a special option on the My Disney Experience App.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has no shortage of great places to eat! And with Tambu Lounge officially reopened, guests now have even more options when choosing where to eat at the Poly.
But this trip, we’re scoping out Capt. Cook’s — the resort’s resident quick-service option. This spot offers up standard burgers, breakfast fare (we see you, Tonga Toast!), flatbreads, late-night snacks, and more — as well as more unique island-inspired dishes! We already swung (ok, more like RAN) by when we noticed that Pulled Pork Nachos were back on their menu! We wondered what other surprises would be in store for us this time… .
We can’t be in a Disney park all the time, so we love to use Disney mugs at home to remind us of some of our favorite “magical” locales!
Whatever your chosen beverage (no judgment), it’s definitely more magical to drink it out of a Disney-themed mug (like one of these featuring the Fab Five)! Or perhaps you’d prefer to add a little Hocus Pocus to your morning beverage. And have you seen this adorable Baby Yoda tiki mug? It is perfect! We have spoken. But no matter how full our cupboards get, there is always room for another Disney mug… .
As Walt Disney World has gradually reopened, so have some of the restaurants in the parks and resorts!
Although there have been some adjustments to ensure social distancing and other safety measures are carried out, spots like California Grill and Biergarten Restaurant have reopened with some delicious items for guests to enjoy. Now, we’ve gotten word that a LOUNGE at one of the Disney resorts may be reopening soon and we’re incredibly excited!
There are a few signature dishes at Captain Cooks in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort that are worth a trip on the monorail to enjoy. In the morning, it’s all about the Tonga Toast, but in the afternoon, the pulled pork nachos are what we’re after!
On our visit to the Polynesian today, we swung by Captain Cooks and FREAKED when we noticed that we could order the pulled pork nachos once again!
When people come up with their absolute “must do” activities at Disney World, most travelers think of things like riding Space Mountain, watching the fireworks, and enjoying a delicious Dole Whip.
But in addition to these fan-favorite attractions and activities, there’s an entire world of unique and perhaps a bit bizarre things you can do at Disney World! Follow along for 10 of the best!
As many of you may know, Disney’s new Park Pass Reservation System opened with a bumpy start this morning. But that’s not the only BIG Disney milestone taking place. Today, select Disney World hotels have also reopened to guests.
We’re reporting LIVE today to check out Disney’s new health and safety procedures along with the changes that the dining and merchandise locations have implemented. Follow along with us! 🙂
With Disney World set to reopen its Disney Vacation Club Resorts on June 22, along with Disney’s Fort Wilderness, we’re ready to head back to some of our favorite hotels on property and catch up on EVERYTHING we’ve missed since March!
But not so fast! While we were perusing which restaurants will open on June 22, we noticed there were SEVERAL dining experiences missing from those lists that made our jaws hit the floor! Here are six restaurants that we are SHOCKED to find will not be a part of their resorts’ initial reopenings.
If meeting characters in Disney World is a priority for your family, we highly recommend you consider booking at least one character dining experience. The main benefit of character dining is pretty significant: you don’t have to wait in long lines to meet multiple characters.
And if you want to meet the Big Cheese, Mickey Mouse, you have a few great options both in the parks and at the resorts. He even has a different outfit in each of these restaurants, so he’ll always have a unique look no matter which restaurant you pick! Let’s run through them all of them from best to worst and see which restaurants are better than others!
