Hey Disney die-hards and foodie fans! Here is some news for your nourishment.
New Refillable Mugs
New refillable mugs for the 2011 “Let the Memories Begin” promotion are on sale now for $13.99 at your WDW resort.
Lids (and handles) are now in blue, black, yellow and pink. Yes, pink! I know a few moms that will be grabbing up the “princessy” mugs!
Make sure each member of the family gets a different lid color. That way Mom doesn’t have to sip Dad’s coffee and Dad won’t be taking unintentional gulps of Mom’s diet soda. Note that not all the resorts appear to have the black lids. Let me know which mug types you spot during your WDW resort stay!
It’s been a great week for foodies! The addition of new counter-service restaurants to the Disney Dining Plan was welcome news. And we’re already green with envy about the culinary events at Raglan Road for St. Paddy’s Day Week!
Also looking forward to the opening of Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam’s at the Disneyland Hotel!
But for now… on to the round-up!

For those of you who plan your Walt Disney World vacation around your gastronomical dreams, you may want to take note of the restaurants listed in this year’s 13th Annual Foodie Awards by the Orlando Sentinel.
Readers and critics chose these restaurants for their outstanding cuisine, and with five of the restaurants located within the WDW theme parks, you’ll need park admission and an Advance Dining Reservation to cast your vote for best meal. Check them out here! [Read more…]
Well, it’s finally happened. After all of our complaining, we at-long-last have the option to add/subtract toppings from our pizzas at Via Napoli in Walt Disney World’s Epcot! (Can you believe you couldn’t add toppings of your choosing before?!)
The other pizzas have been moved to the right hand side of the menu with [Read more…]

Interesting news from the Disney Parks facebook page:
Now through January 7, you can enjoy Sicilian-style Margherita pizza by the slice at a pick-up podium at Via Napoli. An a la carte single-serving dessert and fountain beverage will also be available.
So, for all of us who’ve been hoping for a counter-service pizza window at Via Napoli, maybe this is a promising start! Sounds like this is another antidote to the “heavy crowds” of the holidays like we saw over [Read more…]

Alrighty, folks, settle in — this is gonna be a long one! I very happily stuffed my face at Via Napoli twice on my last Orlando trip, and I’m pleased to share all the news on what has become one of my favorite restaurants in Walt Disney World!
Located in Epcot’s Italy pavilion (walk straight to the back; you can’t miss it), this massive, airplane-hanger-of-a-room is cavernous, but beautiful and filled with light, hustle, bustle, and the most amazing smells.
Artisan tiles dot the floor; whimsical chandeliers hang like ornaments throughout the restaurant; chipping frescoes give depth to the walls; and old-fashioned travel-themed artwork reminds you of all the places in Italy you haven’t been. The warm, neutral colors with pops of [Read more…]
Hey all — welcome to the Disney Food Post Round-Up!
The big — and sad — Disney food news this week is about Disneyland’s unfortunate announcement that Disney’s California Food and Wine Festival will be canceled in 2011 and 2012, with no promises that it will return in 2013. You can read my thoughts here.
