January was busier than expected in Disney World, and February is going to FILLED with new and exciting things!

If there’s ONE thing we know that Disney fans love to know about — it’s when a new pair of Minnie ears drops in the parks!

It’s one souvenir that tends to FLY off the shelves (especially if it’s a popular design) and today we got a remake of an old design that we think is going to be very popular! And let us just say that they’re STUNNING in person.
Walt Disney World has been celebrating its 50th anniversary is spectacular fashion, with a full castle makeover, a ton of new food, and new entertainment.

One of our favorite things that’s been added for the celebrations are the golden 50th character statues across all 4 parks. And, Disney has made it possible for you to take these statues home with you (kind of)! We’ve seen ornament sets of the statues and mini figures available in mystery sets, but now, there are even bigger versions of the statues available!
It’s basically stating the obvious at this point to say that Disney World can get very expensive.
The price might be pretty steep!
Between the park tickets, hotels, restaurants, and gift shops, you might be dropping more cash than you’d like to during your vacation. But you don’t always have to feel guilty about spending the money, especially since Disney actually has a lot of partnerships and programs that give some of the money you spend to charities and other good causes! If you’ve been reading Disney Food Blog for a while, you probably know that we love Nomad Lounge at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Nomad Lounge
This lounge spot is perfect for a quick bite or a nice refreshing drink when you want a break from the crowds! On a recent trip to Animal Kingdom, we stopped by Nomad Lounge for lunch and found a returning special we hadn’t seen in a while, so we decided to try it out!
Have you ever been walking around Animal Kingdom and thought “I wish I had a comfy seat in the AC and a nice cocktail right about now?” If you have, you gotta head over to Nomad Lounge!

Nomad Lounge is connected to Tiffins on Discovery Island (right before you walk down toward Pandora) and is a first come, first served bar and lounge. The inside has large lounge chairs and a big bar and the outside has a really nice deck in the shade where you can feel like you’re in an oasis. This is one of our favorite spots to chill, have a drink, and some snacks! They have some of the best churros in Disney, delicious drinks, and some fun limited time menu offerings. And, today is a good day, because there’s a NEW dessert over at Nomad Lounge, so come with us to check it out!

There was a LOT of news in January — from MAJOR Guardians of the Galaxy ride updates to a ton of new information about Disney World’s Star Wars Hotel. But, there was some stuff we downright were NOT expecting. So, let’s take a look at the three most UNEXPECTED things that happened in Disney World in January!
