Disney World has announced the closure of some of its resorts, and the cancellation of a dinner show later this week as Subtropical Storm Nicole is expected to make landfall on Florida’s East Coast as a hurricane. Now we are also seeing park and attraction closures.
Disney World can be very overwhelming.
It’s not a pleasant truth, but it’s the truth nonetheless. Disney World is huge, it takes a decent amount of planning, and there are usually a lot of people in the parks. We have tips and guides to help you with all of this, but sometimes you can just find yourself feeling very anxious while in the parks, specifically in Magic Kingdom due to the crowds. So, we have a list of some places that we’d recommend checking out if you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or just need a breather for a few minutes while you’re in the park.
UPDATE: Disney World has planned a phased closure for all the theme parks beginning at 5PM on November 9th. Some hotels will be closed as well — see the details below.
Tropical Storm Nicole — which is currently forecasted to become a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall on Florida’s east coast — is changing plans at Disney World.
In an announcement posted on their website Tuesday morning, Disney World said they are currently operating normally, but that closures starting tomorrow will affect the vacations of some guests.
It’s no secret that visiting Disney World during the holiday season can be truly magical.
You might be visiting to check out EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays, attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, or maybe you just want to stroll around and take in all the holiday vibes. But not everyone thinks Christmastime is the best time to visit, and we had to know what people think about visiting during the holidays. We asked DFB readers, “Would you recommend going to Disney World at Christmas time?” Here is what a few of our readers told us!
Did you know that there are FREE souvenirs in Disney World?!
Yes, some things really are free including birthday and celebration buttons. But one free souvenir that people often overlook is the park map! The maps are a great keepsake to remember your trip by and they are completely free. It’s also fun to collect them each time you go because they are constantly changing! And recently, we spotted a new park map at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
The holiday season is here in Disney World and we’ve been celebrating!
One of the biggest offerings this year is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, a seasonal after-hours event held on select nights in Magic Kingdom between November 8th to December 22nd, 2022. There are lots of fun things to do during the event and we’ve got a list of attractions ticketholders can check out!
Hear ye, hear ye — it’s time to dine like straight-up ROYALTY in Disney World.
No, we’re not talking about Cinderella’s Royal Table or Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom. Instead, we’re heading over to EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion to check out a newly reopened Akershus Royal Banquet Hall!
DOZENS of holiday treats are about to arrive in Disney World, and we’re bouncing with excitement to try them all!
But thankfully, we don’t have to wait until Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or the opening of the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House to try some delicious sweets — we’ve already got a few festive options in the parks. And one of them you’ll find at a popular spot in EPCOT!
