Hi, DFB friends! It’s time for more of what’s new at Magic Kingdom.
As Christmas approaches, we have LOTS of merchandise updates from Magic Kingdom! Let’s jump right into it.
When you think of Disney World, you probably think about the amazing rides, delicious food, and cool merchandise. As magical as Disney World, emergency situations and evacuations can happen in the parks and resorts.
Last night, we shared the news about a fire having been reported in Magic Kingdom and what happened as a result. Now, we’ve got an update from the Reedy Creek Firefighters Association about what reportedly caused the entire situation to transpire.
Are you looking for a light meal in Disney World? Maybe one that doesn’t leave you feeling super full when all you want to do is drink around the world?
Disney World has taken an iconic French treat to the next level with this new EPCOT restaurant, with a menu full of sweet AND savory items and a tasty meal that isn’t quite the usual theme park experience. But, is it worth YOUR time & money?
As much as we love Disney World, we’d be lying if we said there wasn’t at least one thing we wouldn’t mind seeing removed from the parks.
You might like to see a certain ride removed, or maybe a restaurant, or you might want to see policies changed. We asked our readers (that’s YOU!) what you’d like to see gone from Disney World. Here’s what you said!
Prix fixe menus, or multi-course meals at a singular fixed price, have become more commonplace around Disney World. More recently, menus at new restaurants like Space 220 are totally centered around the prix fixe experience (EPCOT’s other new restaurant, La Crêperie de Paris, has a prix fixe option on their menu as well). Some long-standing restaurants have shifted to a prix fixe model as well, including Be Our Guest Restaurant, Cinderella’s Royal Table, and the new three-course menu at California Grill for the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
Is this just a slick new way for Disney World to get guests to pay more for more food than they’ll actually eat while disguising it as a bargain?
UPDATE: As of the next day, December 15th, Magic Kingdom is back to normal. The small fire was quickly and safely extinguished, and now the Cinderella Castle and surrounding area are open again for guests to visit. Cinderella’s Royal Table (which was evacuated during the emergency) is also open again now.
As magical as Disney World can be, emergency situations and evacuations can happen in the parks, resorts, and on transportation.
We’ve seen rides evacuated, transportation shut down, and more. Earlier tonight, a fire was reported in Magic Kingdom, causing some emergency vehicles to be sent into the park. Here’s a look at how Disney handled the guests after the reported fire.

Disney World is known as the Most Magical Place on Earth, but sometimes emergency situations can arise or evacuations can take place in the parks and resorts.
Earlier today we shared about our experience on the Disney Word monorail and how that took longer than expected due to some technical issues. We’ve also shared news about Skyliner crashes in the past and more. Most recently, we shared with you the news about a fire reported near Cinderella Castle tonight, and now we’ve got an update on that situation.

Things don’t always go according to plans in Disney World!

Whether it’s an unexpected ride evacuation, technical issues with the My Disney Experience app, or even a parade float catching on fire, you never quite know what can happen when you’re visiting. And, today there were reports that a popular spot in Magic Kingdom caught fire.
Boatwright’s Dining Hall at Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside Resort is a casual table service offering that features Southern Louisiana cuisine.
Although Disney’s Port Orleans — Riverside Resort reopened in October, not everything there opened with the resort. Boatwright’s remained closed, and fans eagerly awaited when this hidden gem of a restaurant would finally reopen. But today, we’ve got some good news for fans out there, because Boatwright’s is now OPEN!
The 2021 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays has been going on for a few weeks now.
We’ve enjoyed ALL kinds of food at the booths, checked out the return of Candlelight Processional, stopped to see the other entertainment, and (of course) taken a look at the merchandise. We’ve also participated in Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Scavenger Hunt, where you can get a PRIZE if you complete the activity. But the prizes for this scavenger hunt have been…interesting.
