That’s right, it may only be mid-October but Disney World is already looking toward the holiday season! Let’s go over the most unexpected news of the week.
We love getting to go to Disney World every day, and we love spotting new merchandise when it becomes available.
All dressed up for the 50th Anniversary!
So you can imagine our excitement when the 50th Anniversary Mickey Mouse Popcorn Bucket turned up today, just about two weeks after the official start of the celebrations! And Mickey was VERY happy to be out and about at the theme parks — so much that he decided to take a tour around the resort!
A trip to Disney World is a LOT! There’s tons of planning, preparation, and thought that goes into a Disney trip and there’s a lot you need to know ahead of time. (This is BEFORE the zillions of miles you’ll walk and stuff you’ll actually do once you’re there!)

From the thrilling to the educational, we think it’s time to separate the good from the bad to just the “meh.” Let’s rank all of the boat rides at Disney World!
We are always impressed by so much of what happens at Disney World. From the Imagineering that goes into creating amazing rides (have you even been on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure yet?) to all the little details that most people don’t even notice that just adds extra detail to the magic, it’s no wonder that many of us refer to Disney World as our happy place.

EPCOT is currently undergoing a massive transformation that includes new rides, lands, restaurants, and more!

Future World has been divided into 3 new neighborhoods, there is a brand new flagship store in the park, and we’re getting closer to the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Part of the transformation is EPCOT’s new nighttime spectacular, Harmonious, which debuted recently for Disney World’s 50th anniversary. We’ve checked out the show several times since opening night, and, agree there are some viewing locations that are better than others! Here are the best and worst locations to view Harmonious in EPCOT!

Disney Springs
Is it just us, or has Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs been having a serious streak of unique new menu items lately?? We’ve seen donuts stuffed with coffee gelato, beer-flavored gelato, and a shake topped with real gold. And now, we have another interesting treat to try!
On October 19th, Disney World is introducing a new planning system called Disney Genie, along with the paid replacement for FastPass+, Disney Genie+.

Disney Genie+ will cost guests $15 per ticket, per day in Disney World ($20 per ticket, per day in Disneyland Resort when it arrives later on) and will allow guests to skip the long waits for select attractions by using the Lightning Lanes. But, if you’re used to using Disney’s FastPass+ system, there are some differences with Genie+ that may surprise you!
You’ll have to act fast if you want to snag this new cake slice in Disney World!

If you’re on the hunt for a sweet treat in Disney Springs, Gideon’s Bakehouse has definitely got you covered! This ultra-popular spot is known for its MASSIVE cookies and cake slices.
