In case you missed it, Jellyrolls announced earlier this month that it will be leaving Disney’s BoardWalk after 30 years of operation.

Okay, we know that the prices of cake slices at The Cake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers have been pretty controversial, but overall, we’ve liked pretty much every slice of cake we’ve tried. The cakes here are an indulgence when you want to throw down some $$$ for something to celebrate a memorable moment or occasion.
So when we learned there’s a NEW cake slice to check out, we went running to Disney’s BoardWalk to check it out. We’re bringing you along with us for our review, so let’s go!
Happy New Year! It’s 2025, and a LOT of exciting things are coming to Disney World this year.
We’ve got new shows, a new nighttime parade, new lands beginning construction, and SO MUCH MORE to look forward to. We’ve even got a few new dining spots, including a Pirates of the Caribbean tavern and a Spaceship Earth lounge. However, now that the New Year has started, Disney World has been busy adjusting some of its existing restaurant menus, so let’s see what’s changed this week.
It might be winter in Florida, but we’re celebrating the reopening of a pool at Disney World!
A pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—French Quarter briefly closed, but it is once again open to hotel guests! Not too many people might be going swimming in December, but it’s still good to see these refurbishments come to an end.
Everything is worth celebrating in Disney World!
Big and small occasions are worthy of being celebrated if you’re at Disney World. Disney hands out “I’m Celebrating” pins to guests for pretty much any reason, and this week, we’re going to have to grab one to celebrate this small update at Magic Kingdom! Will you also be celebrating the return of a special treehouse at the Most Magical Place on Earth? Catch us climbing all over this tree this week.
Disney World’s Cinderella Castle Dream Lights may be gone, but they’ll never be forgotten.
And, while we may never see them glisten and glimmer on the castle ever again, that doesn’t mean the lights won’t turn up where we least expect them. Disney threw us a bone with this gingerbread version of the Dream Lights, but did you know there’s a place at Disney World where you can actually see remnants of them?!
Are you headed to Disney World this week, December 7th through December 14th?
If you are, there is LOTS to do at the resort. Now that it’s the holidays, Disney is offering even more entertainment at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. Lots of rides are open and ready for you to enjoy, shows are available to see, and so much more. However, there are 11 closures that you will want to keep in mind while you’re visiting this coming week!
It’s been a HUGE week in Disney World — at least for food.
That’s because the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays has officially kicked off and have spent the past few days eating and drinking our way around this year’s food booths. Let’s just say we also ate a lot of cookies and enjoyed the first Candlelight Processional of the year where we got to see the voice of Olaf himself, Josh Gad, (who also voiced Le Fou in the live-action Beauty and the Beast) narrate the Christmas story. However, Disney World restaurants still had a few changes this week, so we’re going to tell you all about them between bites of cookie.
Sorry, Pop Century fans, but we have a bit of bad news for you.
There has been ongoing construction at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and while it was supposed to be done this week, it has now been extended once again. Luckily, it’s not all bad news, though! Let’s find out what Everything Pop Dining & Shopping construction will continue and what is done.
As the weather gets cooler in Florida, fewer people will find swimming an enticing activity.
It’s during the winter months that Disney will often close pools for refurbishment since there aren’t nearly as many people swimming when the temperatures are cooler. As we’re getting into the last months of the year, we’re starting to see hotel pools close, including one that will be closed until late December.
