It was another beautiful day in Hollywood…Hollywood Studios that is! We found some new updates including progress on Star Wars — Galaxy’s Edge!
We’ll start this update out on Hollywood Boulevard.
The Star Wars: Galactic Nights event will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 27th! This extra-ticket, one-night-only event will include access to select attractions in the the park, character greetings, a special projections show in addition to Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, and MUCH more!
Part of the “much more” includes specialty FOOD just for the event! PLUS, there’s an add-on to allow guests to taste even more treats around the Galaxy: the Galactic Tasting Sampler and Viewing Package! Let’s peek at the food first, then continue scrolling for more info about the Sampler, Table Service dining menus, and more!
It’s a Galaxy Gourmet for this year’s Galactic Nights event! Returning items will include the famous LIGHTSABER CHURROS!
Keep an eye out for the Lightsaber Churro Sundae, too. Sweet and Crunchy Popcorn, the Star Wars-themed Orange Truffle Cupcake, the Mini-Éclair Trio, and Glow Cotton Candy will also make their way back to the event from a galaxy far, far away…
Tapas-sized gourmet offerings (think Epcot Food and Wine Festival) will be available throughout the park, with up to 25 food and drink items to choose from!
Among the new items this year will be the Dueling Gazpacho.

Brown Derby Lounge is a terrific place to dine if you’re looking for a little Hollywood Flair at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — and the best part is that there’s no ADR required!
That’s right! You can saunter up to Brown Derby Lounge on a whim and experience the understated elegance and tasty menu that so many have lauded in the Brown Derby Restaurant proper.
We’ve enjoyed our visits here, where Margarita and Martini Flights rule and you almost can’t go wrong with the menu of Brown Derby Restaurant-approved eats. And with outdoor seating on Hollywood Boulevard, it’s a great place for people watching!
During a recent visit to the World, I dropped in for a few plates of food — and left having eaten the best thing I ate in my entire visit! I love being surprised by awesome food — even more so when it’s served in such a great location!
Happy Easter! We hope you’re having a great weekend! Now it’s time to sit back, grab one of those chocolate and peanut butter eggs for a snack, and check out the latest in Disney food news… .

In the exciting/frustrating world of Disney World ADRs (Advance Dining Reservations), some restaurants just seem to be tougher to get into than others. And the Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of those more difficult tickets.
So in 2013, the Disney gods (or Imagineers or restaurant planning mavens) smiled and — poof!– the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge was born.
And it was good. Right from the start, the Lounge became one of our favorite places to drop in unannounced. We could get all the glittery Hollywood-ness of the Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant without an ADR! [Read more…]
In the ever-evolving, super-fun world of Disney Parks Glowcubes (that’s a thing, trust us), we’ve found the holy grail. And you don’t even need to go on a quest to get one (just take a boat or a bus to Hollywood Studios)!!
Introducing, the Brown Derby Hat Glowcube. I mean, C’MON, guys! It’s a TEENY DERBY HAT!
Look how stinking adorable that thing is. And it’s a glowcube! Whoever came up with this idea deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — the Disney version AND the real one.
You can snag one for yourself at the Brown Derby Lounge (which is restaurant-adjacent). It comes automatically in the Derby Cocktail. [Read more…]
Whew! It sure has been a news-y few weeks for Disney World! From the debut of the long-awaited Rivers of Light show in Animal Kingdom, to the announcement of a brand new fireworks spectacular on the way to Magic Kingdom, to the return of another annual Festival at Epcot: the 2017 Flower and Garden Festival.
But it sure doesn’t stop there, because we’ve got even more news to explore… by checking out WHAT’S NEW around Walt Disney World! [Read more…]
Because we think there’s no better way to celebrate Happy Friday than with Happy Hour!
And for this reason, Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge is one of our most favorite stops for a drink in all of Walt Disney World. Why? Because FLIGHTS, my friends. (Also, people watching.) [Read more…]
Cheers from The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge!
The Brown Derby Lounge sits just outside The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Its reputation stems from that of the original Brown Derby Restaurant in the City of Lights — a hot spot of the 1930s and 40s where stars of the Golden Age of film came to “see and be seen.” The outdoor lounge (which was added to the Disney World location in 2013) offers a spot for walk-ups without Advance Dining Reservations to enjoy a taste along with a bit of the ambience of the signature restaurant.
The Lounge serves food along with cocktails and bar service. And with some new items added to the menu this summer, we thought it was a good time to travel back to Hollywood’s heyday with a visit to the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge.
For a newer location, The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge blends so seamlessly within its surroundings that its hard to remember that it hasn’t been here all along. And, to be fair, the patio and tables HAVE been here all along, but they weren’t functioning as a lounge at the time.
Below is a shot from its opening day in October 2013.
Not much has changed in the past almost-two years, except for [Read more…]
