If you’ve been keeping up with Magic Kingdom news, you already know that the wildest ride in the wilderness went offline back in January 2025. But what you might not know is just how massive this refurbishment actually is, why it’s taking so long, and what Disney is promising when it finally reopens. According to TheWrap, Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom might be better than we’ve ever thought.

There’s been a lot of speculation lately about the project being scrapped or even the budget being unlimited, but some sources are saying that Disney is looking to change some elements of the proposed Villains Land. We’re not exactly sure what’s happening yet, but some of the speculated ideas make us want to run to the parks and start helping with construction because it’s going to be spectacular.
It’s IMPOSSIBLE to ignore all the work being done in Magic Kingdom, but the good news is that all this construction means real, tangible progress!

While the repainting of Cinderella Castle is currently garnering most of the guests’ attention, the world’s most popular theme park is PACKED with projects meant to improve the park. From land expansions to massive ride enhancements, it’s downright wild how much is happening in “The Most Magical Place on Earth” these days, and the evolution has been incredible to see. Let’s dive into everything we’ve seen so far during this early stretch of 2026 and what we can expect to see in the coming months!
We can’t tell you how many times we’ve been in Magic Kingdom only to find that we’re missing some essentials, or we see that guests around us are deeply regretting not having one thing or another with them.

We’re in Disney World every day, not to mention the members of our team who don’t live locally, write about the parks each day, but yes, we still make mistakes when it comes to packing! I reached out to members of the team and asked them to tell me some things that they make sure they ALWAYS bring to Magic Kingdom, and added in some of my own as well, so without further ado, here’s the ULTIMATE list of what you should pack in your bag to be prepared for the day!
We know a LOT of things are changing in Magic Kingdom, what with the big Cars expansion in Frontierland, Villains Land, and ride updates to both Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

Well, a huge change is coming to Magic Kingdom’s parades, too, or rather, the park’s parade schedule. We’re going to go through these changes to make sure you don’t miss a thing if you’re visiting the parks in March.
Your park bag is packed, you know your transportation route, and now you’re ready to rope drop your Disney World park for the day. But before you get there, you should know that certain hotels make it easier to do so.

Rope dropping is when you show up before the park even opens and are some of the first to get on attractions. Why do guests do this? Because it’s a great shot at some of the lowest wait times of the entire day and a serious head start over the late sleepers. Doing it at Disney World means waking up EARLY, and once you factor in transportation, it’s probably earlier than you planned. Plus, Disney hotel guests get Early Theme Park Entry, so everyone else is already trying to beat the clock, too. After rope dropping from tons of hotels over the years, we’ve learned one thing: if you want to maximize your morning, skip these hotels and choose smarter swaps to save you time.
Recently, Disney has announced new lands, attractions, and entertainment headed to the theme parks, new ships coming to the Disney Cruise Line, and so much more. But, what about those projects that Disney hasn’t exactly announced yet?

There are a lot of changes coming to Walt Disney World in 2026, ranging from massive construction projects to refurbished attractions to permanent closures. However, changes aren’t isolated simply to rides.

Some big changes are coming to Walt Disney World restaurants as well, all of which will change how many guests book their dining reservations and plan where to eat on their next visit to the “Most Magical Place on Earth.”
There are lots of popular rides around Disney World for many different reasons, but over in Magic Kingdom, you’ll rarely find one more popular (especially among families) than Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
This family-friendly coaster is tons of fun, isn’t too overwhelming for those not used to coasters, and we love the theming and elements inside. However, if we’re being honest, there are a few things about this ride, or about experiencing this ride, that would make it MUCH better. If we were in charge, these are the NEW rules we’d put in place for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
There’s a LOT happening this week in Disney World, so if you’re visiting this week or in the upcoming months, you’ve gotta know about these changes ASAP.

While there is construction and changes happening all over the resort, a bunch of the changes happening this week are located inside the parks — specifically EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. Yes, this is indeed the week we’ve been dreading, and it’s here — this week, not only does Festival of the Arts end in EPCOT, but Rafiki’s Planet Watch closes for MONTHS to make way for a new Bluey experience, and we may never see it the same again.
