Even though we were convinced that 2020 would last forever, we’re now three months into 2021!
This year has been pretty eventful in Disney World so far, with several policy changes, lots of construction, and plenty of new offerings. We’ve been looking out for all the latest Disney news, and if you’re planning on traveling to the parks and resorts in March, there are quite a few things you need to know about!
February might have been a short month, but a LOT has happened at Disney World dining locations!
There have been some over the top donuts, a lot of new boozy drinks, the coconut pineapple soft-serve swirl of our dreams, and even some new entrees. And we’re compiling the whole list here so you can stay up to date on all the restaurant menu updates at Disney World in February!
Based on a few comments below where this post is being misinterpreted, we need to clarify that our goal with this meal was not to test Disney restaurants to see how well the rule is being enforced, or to try to not wear our masks throughout the meal. Our job, as always, is to describe our experience with the restaurant and the policies and to do so in an honest, thoughtful way. We wrote a post after the parks reopened where we discussed forgetting to put our mask on to walk to the restroom at California Grill. That was a mortifying mistake, but it was not intentional. And we think it’s important to share those errors with our readers so that they can be aware of just how easy it can be to break the rules when you have no intention of doing so. It’s good, valuable information, and so we share it in order to keep more people safe on their trips to Disney World.
We’ve seen a lot of updates made to Disney World’s face mask policy since the parks reopened.
Disney World has strictly upheld these policies to adhere to appropriate health and safety guidelines. Guests must wear masks all the time when on Disney property, except when eating and drinking while stationary, swimming, or in a relaxation station. However, Disney recently announced an update on its policy regarding eating in restaurants.
We’ve been anxiously awaiting more details about the upcoming special ticketed event at Disney California Adventure!
The A Touch of Disney event will reopen almost all of California Adventure for shopping and dining, although rides won’t be included with the experience. But guests can expect to get reunited with some of their favorite Disneyland food! Today, Disney shared details on pricing, event dates, and more for the event. And we now know that a highly anticipated location is reopening as well.Â
Did you know that there are over 400 dining options at Disney World?
And almost every restaurant has its own theming and story! For example, the restaurant inside Cinderella Castle is Cinderella’s Royal Table, where you can dine with Cindy IN her grand castle. Or consider Liberty Tree Tavern, where you can FEAST on a meal fit for patriots in colonial rooms where it’s Thanksgiving ALL YEAR. But with all the over-the-top themed dining, there are several ideas that we’ve wanted to see that just haven’t happened! So here are the restaurants we think Disney needs to build ASAP.
Can you believe we’re already a week into February?
Disney made so many announcements last month, and we’ve seen so many menu and restaurant updates since the beginning of the year! And we’ve seen even more updates just since last week. so let’s dive right in, shall we?
The pandemic has impacted a wide variety of industries, including the food service industry.

Disney Springs
At Disney World alone, many restaurants closed and have yet to reopen, and many Cast Members from a variety of locations and areas have been let go. Are Disney World restaurants really just firing everyone? We’ve already shared with you that things are much more complicated than you think. But now, specific and direct relief for restaurants might be on the way in the form of a new bill introduced in Congress.
Valentine’s Day weekend is almost here!
And there are going to be a LOT of Valentine’s Day specials going on in Disney World, including at Disney Springs. We already know about specials at STK Orlando, a chef’s tasting dinner at Morimoto Asia, and a ton of yummy snacks. And, there’s one more Disney Springs location offering up something special for Valentine’s Day!
January has been full of a LOT of changes at Disney World.
Disney announced a ton of changes coming to its parks, park hopping returned, and a new donut shop opened up! We also saw a TON of menu updates throughout the month, so let’s get to them!
