Disney dropped a TON of news this week, especially around what we can expect from the holiday season in both Disneyland Resort and Disney World, but we also got some much-needed updates on a few projects happening inside the parks.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow, the Magic Kingdom meet-and-greet area for Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, and Goofy, has been closed since January 4th. The abrupt closure was due to structural repairs, and 6 months later, Disney finally announced a reopening date of Saturday, June 27th.

But when we were visiting Fantasyland today, we saw that Pete’s Silly Sideshow opened a whole day early! If you’re at Magic Kingdom today, you can meet Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy inside the building again!
Since its introduction a few years ago, Disney’s Lightning Lane system has become an incredibly popular — and many would argue necessary — part of many Disney vacations.

However, also bear in mind that the system has a lot of rules, both official and unofficial, but we’d argue that some are meant to be broken.
We are still sweating through June, but Disney World is already asking us to make decisions about pumpkins, peppermint, and whether we are willing to pay hard-ticket-event prices while wearing a costume in Florida humidity.

Yes, it is holiday planning season. No, your calendar is not broken. Disney World fans are already moving things around, rethinking dates, and doing the very glamorous vacation math that involves park tickets, hotel rooms, party tickets, snack budgets, and the quiet emotional cost of telling yourself, “Maybe we don’t need another Spirit Jersey.”
The big reason? Disney’s holiday season is getting crowded, complicated, and expensive before the season has even properly begun.
Since the Magic Kingdom opened over 50 years ago, Disney World’s first theme park has become one of the most iconic tourist destinations in the world. However, along with that has always come crowds!

As anyone who has visited the “Most Magical Place on Earth” pretty much any time since 1971 can attest, the park is pretty much always crowded, which can sometimes make the park tough to navigate. That’s only been exacerbated by the two massive construction projects happening in the Frontierland area: the Cars-themed Piston Peak located on the former site of the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island, as well as prep-work for Villains Land in the area beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
