Disney World theme parks aren’t the only parts of the resort where construction is happening. Disney World hotels are also getting refurbishments, with some hotels getting refreshed food courts, lobbies, rooms, and more.
Pop Century Resort
There are also a lot of general refurbishments happening at Disney World hotels. This includes pool areas, which often go under maintenance before the summer season when there is greater demand for pools. Well, if you plan on visiting Disney’s Pop Century Resort soon, there’s an upcoming pool closure we need to tell you about.
Although many Disney World visitors come to the resort to enjoy the theme parks, the resort is also one of the top golf destinations in the country.

Disney World is home to four world-class golf courses that have hosted major golf tournaments, including those on the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour, as well as USGA events. Disney just recently completed some massive updates to its Magnolia Golf Course, and now there are plans in place to update its Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, too!
On its surface, Disney World’s Star Wars experience, Galactic Starcruiser, seemed like a really bold idea. The idea of a hotel where you could basically role-play all your Star Wars dreams with an actual Star Wars-based storyline could have appealed to a lot of fans.

However, less than a year after the Galactic Starcruise opened, it closed, with Disney citing that the experience didn’t perform the way the company had hoped. However, rather than leave the space abandoned, Disney decided to convert it into new office space for Walt Disney Imagineering. Now, we’ve seen signs of progress and construction to make this happen, and we recently noticed a new permit being filed for what was previously the Galactic Starcruiser.
There’s so much construction happening at Magic Kingdom right now. When we went to check out the testing on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, a sneak peek of a brand-new land caught our eye!
‘Cars’ land!
The all-new Cars-themed land, Piston Peak, is under construction right in front of Big Thunder Mountain. We could see some of the progress during the Big Thunder Mountain test drives!

Well, Universal has dropped a lot of details about the new resort, Universal Kids Resort, including what lands it will include and what kind of rides the theme park will have. The park will be themed for families, and it’s expected to open sometime this year! Well, we’ve got some new photos of the construction progress of the new theme park, and it’s really moving along!
