We’ve already been to most of the 2021 EPCOT Food and Wine Festival booths, but a few of them didn’t open until today.

Although several of the booths were going to open on October 1st, a whole bunch of them opened early! But there were still a couple that we had to wait for, including an old favorite: the Belgium booth!
Can you believe it’s finally here? We’ve been so excited about today because it’s Disney World’s 50th anniversary! And a huge celebration is JUST beginning to take place at the parks!
It’s an exciting day to be at EPCOT!
It’s also a HUGE day at EPCOT for other reasons, too — today marks the opening of a brand NEW attraction, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at the France Pavilion — AND a new restaurant is opening there, too — La Creperie de Paris. SO much going on! So, as you can imagine, all that excitement has brought a LOT of guests to the parks to check all the new stuff out. Let’s take a look at what crowds are like at EPCOT today.

We’re so excited about the start of the big celebration, not to mention everything that comes with it — a new character cavalcade, new character outfits, a new Magic Kingdom fireworks show, AND a new EPCOT fireworks show! Today is going to be the BEST DAY EVER. ☀️

And while there hasn’t been any form of a Welcome Show since the parks reopened after its historic closure — today that changed!
It’s not even the 50th Anniversary yet, but we’ve had SO much news coming out of Disney World this week!

We got an opening date for the Star Wars Hotel. We got a first look at the new Grand Floridian Vacation Club Rooms. We even learned about some new high-tech MagicBands that are coming soon. And we got an opening timeline of 2022 for EPCOT’s next attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, along with some new details! Well, the news just keeps on coming, and we’ve got a first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride vehicles.
Now that Early Theme Park Entry has started for resort guests at Disney World, Rope Drop is looking a little different these days.

We’re also ready for all the great Halloween content coming to Disney+, ESPECIALLY the Muppets Haunted Mansion special, which we’ve been excited about since it was first announced! But, this special is also crashing an attraction at Disney World!
Disney World is a very magical place, but even in the most magical place on Earth, things happen that can put a damper on your vacation plans.
Happily Ever After Fireworks
For example, sometimes rides get shut down due to technical problems or weather. Or at other times, attractions could be down for annual maintenance and sprucing up. And sometimes, fireworks shows get canceled. But WHY exactly do fireworks get canceled sometimes??
There is SO much going on at Disney World. It turns out that getting the resort ready for the big 50th Anniversary celebration is a LOT of work!
Main Street Confectionery
So far, Cinderella Castle has undergone quite the transformation, Fantasyland has gotten a golden glow-up, and gold statues have popped up in the parks. The Main Street Confectionery in Magic Kingdom has also been closed for some renovations, but now (a day ahead of its set reopening date) the Confectionery has opened its doors and we got a peek inside!
