March was a BIG month of news for Disney World and lots of news can sometimes make for surprises!
From dining changes to health measure updates and more, let’s take a look at the four most unexpected things that happened in Disney World in March!
🚨 Get ready! The way you meet your favorite Disney characters in the parks is CHANGING…again!
Prior to the pandemic, meeting Mickey, the Disney princesses, and other iconic characters was full of hugs, autographs, and regular face-to-face contact. Of course, the situation with COVID-19 changed all of that. After the parks reopened, fans got the chance to see Mickey and friends…but only from a distance. Then, more traditional meet-and-greets returned, but they were still riddled with changes including (importantly) distancing requirements, no hugs, and no autographs. We later heard that the face-to-face meet-and-greets we’re all used to would soon be returning to Disney World (and got a hint about it yesterday) and now we’ve got BIG news!
Been craving a hug from Mickey Mouse? Or maybe a photo of your little one interacting with Minnie Mouse? Well, character meet-and-greets have been different lately, but things might be changing soon!
While you might have been used to autographs and hugs from Disney characters prior to the pandemic, the situation with COVID-19 changed the meet-and-greet situation substantially. Previously, characters were only available for guests to say “hello” to from a distance (sometimes a pretty significant difference). Then, some more traditional meet-and-greets returned, still with distancing requirements (a.k.a. no autographs, no hugs, and no up-close contact). But, Disney has just given us a sign that things could be very different soon!
Disney World never ceases to surprise us!
This week Disney made some unexpected Genie+ changes, some characters returned to their regular spot, and a useful form of technology went down temporarily, among LOTS of other news. Check it out here!
The characters at Disney World sure know how to make us smile.

Pooh brings us JOY
Sometimes they also make us cry (happy tears, of course), or they make us laugh, or they just make us go “AWWWW!” and fill us with utter joy. We recently had one of those days.
Walt Disney was quoted as saying that he saw Disneyland as something that would never be complete — he imagined Disney Parks always changing and evolving with the times.
We’ve seen that at Disney World, especially most recently with the massive ongoing EPCOT transformation, but we also recently noticed a smaller change — certain characters at Disney World recently got a bit of a transformation of their own.
No matter how many times you’ve been to Disney World, it seems there are almost always new little secrets, hidden Mickeys, and fun traditions to discover on every visit.
In fact, there are some SUPER secret things we bet you never even knew Disney does or used to do in the parks. Well, we’ll let you in on some fun information — one of these classic Magic Kingdom traditions that you might have never known about is coming back soon!
Magic Kingdom already has a few cavalcades you can see during your trips there, including a fun 50th Anniversary themed one with Mickey and friends.
But soon a NEW cavalcade — the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade — will be joining in on the fun! This new cavalcade is set to be the BIGGEST one yet, with a whole bunch of characters for fans to see. Earlier today we got news about the cavalcade’s opening date, and now we’ve got even MORE details to share!
Happy Lunar New Year, everyone!
Disneyland is celebrating the holiday with festivities all around Disney California Adventure Park. From January 21 through February 13, 2022, the park will ring in the Year of the Tiger with special food, entertainment, and more! We’re at the park today to see all of the festivities, and we’ve already had some great food and drinks, like over at Prosperity Bao & Buns. But, we also came for the promise of some special character sightings, so let’s take a look at ALL of the entertainment at this year’s Lunar New Year celebration!
So much of the fun in visiting Disney Parks is getting a chance to see the characters come to life through meet and greets.
Although meet and greets have changed a bit over the last few years, they are back at the parks! When it comes to characters, though, Disneyland Resort has A TON you’ll only ever get to meet there! This includes one NEW character from last year’s Raya and the Last Dragon who is about to make her big debut.
